Default Losi brushless?

I'm new to brushless. How does the losi xcelerin 13.5 compare to the "big names"?

In my opinion Losi Brushless is "Dead." There is no upgrades being done no software work being done. Your better off going with Tekin, Speed Passion or even LRP. At least with them there is active work being done to compete.

I've got someone offering me one in a trade. I'd like to go brushless, and so far this is the easiest way to get in (for me).

Are you going brushless to race or drift. If its drift then thats one thing. I have a losi brushless esc as my backup if my speedpassion lpf v1.1 dies but to race don't waste your time.

I say do it, if you feel its a good deal, you could always replace it later. I have had really good luck with the motors. They are right though the newer systems can kill it but they need a good driver behind the wheel too.

Will any 13.5 motor work with the esc or just the losi ones? Which system/motor/esc would be recommended?

As long as you use a sensored motor anyone will work.
I have been using an excelerion combo 13.5 in my TC for a year now, just upgraded to Teamwave.
I have a Losi 6.5T in my TRF501X and it goes very well, has been with a GTB but I have now put the excelerion ESC in with it.
Beaty is it good adjustments via the PC

As already mentioned if it is a trade, it's a great way to get into brushless

Losi motors are OK. They are probably done by Hacker in Europe. I've had one 17.5T Losi and it was fine. You can get the motor, no problems. Only thing is you can't change timing on it like you can on Tekin for an example.

For ESC I'd recommend Castle Mamba Max Pro or Tekin RS (Pro) at the moment.

Well, the deal fell through. Since it looks like I'm going to have to buy new, I'm thinking of going with the mamba max pro. Thanks for all the advise!

What scale are you talking about? ( the three-80 line is for "mini" 18th and 16th scale racing)...???

Sorry, I've been on a research binge for my new XRay M18 Pro - 1/18th scale sedan, and was just didn't realize what size you guys may have been talking about. So yeah, I'm looking for a 1/18th scale brushless and ESC combo, and was looking for user experiences.
