CRC Tire Ratings
Does anybody know of or created their own tire rating chart for CRC tires? IE:
Softest to Hardest and which tires work with certain applications such as stock/mod, and carpet or asphalt?
I have found some generic tire charts on line, but that's it.
CRC has a bit of stuff on their website, but its not all that relevant. That website is quite a bit dated.

For 1/12th there is really only three compounds now you need to know about. The blu and greene family.
Hardest
Double Blu
Blu
Greene
Softest.
The only exception would be asphalt where I thing orange or red is supposed to be the hot ticket. Don't really know much about asphalt 1/12th myself.
For stock, start out with double blu front, blu rear. Then you can try greene rears to see what they do, opinions vary so your experience may be different from mine. If the car is nice and stable but you think you need to be faster with a more aggressive set-up, go blu front.
13.5 and up I like blus all around and sometimes greene rears.

I hear ya
How Hard would it be to use a alpha numeric system... Maybe something like this
AXX = Asphalt
CXX = Carpet
And you guessed it
BXX= For a compound that could run on Both.

Well that really doesn't give you much of an idea what the tire will do best for you. The grip isn't entirely based on the hardness of the tire...the family of foam has a lot to do with it as well. And some times the harder tire will actually give you better grip than the softer depending on the situation as some tires give better side bite and some give better forward bite.
