What"s A Good Radio

I forgot one important thing... do the grip test ! A radio should feel good, also for long time use.

No one even come close to 3PK if you can afford it....but then if not......3PD is my next choice for budget radio. You can get a 3PK on e-bay for around 215 with HRS receiver (from HK).....

I think the main difference s is 2 or 3 channels and AM versus FM.
FM for sure is more glicth free, but many people in our club do fine with AM.
The 3. channel of the MX3 can be important. If plan on getting an Savgae or something similar, you'll probably need that channel for shifting gears.
In the small issues department, check out the sizes of the RX's, if you like to get the smallest RX. The 2PL got ABS. That can be nice on slippery surfaces, or if you later on want to run a one-way. But personally, I dont brake at all. The MX3 got an expo feature, which allows you to customize the feel of steering and throttle. Personally, I find that quite important for the throttle, since it can give much better control. But again, these things are minor, compared to the choise of 3-channel and FM versus AM.
One final thought: Buy cheap, cry often. But buy expensive, and you only cry once.

Get an XS3, 240.00, decent servos, RX costs a fefty 80.00 though, that makes up for all the crystals you don't have to buy, the RX is also pritty heavy, IMO.

If you want a smaller, lighter Rx you can get the Novak XXtra. $99.99.
A little more money but sometimes size and weight are worth the extra $$.
