This method doesnt work elsewhere because most competition and club racing has ruling that does not allow excessive holes and cutting on the bodyshell..

For example, a hole in the windshield. Only GP classes allows holes to be cut for engine cooling....

thank you to everyones suggestions.

I will start doing some testing soon, all within a couple of hours to see whats the best set up regarding lowering temps.

Depends on the size of the fan and the size of the heatsink.

You can get passive heatsinks (no fan) for computer CPU's and chipsets, try finding a 'fan only' design......you won't

not forgetting the fan is also prone to wear and tear as well cogging & jam. you need to keep some for standby.

fan blowing just on motor is almost useless. first you need to draw heat from the motor to the heatsink that has much higher surface area and then use fan or even airflow to blow the heat away from the heatsink

That's y racers put additional 6V battery to the batt input of the Rx. That is in addition to 7.4V in use to the ESC

I would hardly think a couple of fans would draw that much current that you would notice a difference in car performance. Most 25mm fans draw around 100ma.

If anything, the 6v pack that people run in addition to the lipo would be more of a disadvantage with the extra weight.

I agree too... the additional batt is to help them with the weight instead adding more iron bars. RnR car is 1.4Kg for example.

hv u guys check the team power air cooler kit?

i think it;s quite efficient for cooling down the motor...

A fan does cool the motor down about 10 deg. They do not use any current so don't worry about it taking torque from your motor. For $10.00 it is a cheap way to keep a motor a bit cooler.
