The packs are 8.4V maximum. 4.2V per cell.
The Core 5000 packs are two cells in series (2S) (all connected etc internally so you'll never see them.)
The balance connector has one wire connected to the same place as the positive, the middle wire connects inbetween the two cells, the third wire will go to the negative.
This middle wire allows the balancer to see the difference between the two cells as well as the overall voltage of the pack.
All lipo chargers should maintain maximum charge rate until the pack voltage reaches 8.4V, the charger will then slowly reduce the charge rate so the voltage does not go above 8.4V, this will keep reducing until the pack has finaly finished charging.
This all make sense?

2 quick questions
I just picked up an mi3 - i took the rear diff out for a rebuild and now when i put it back in - i cant quite get the rear dif to line up perfectly with the center pully. the rear diff pully is pulling the belt over to the center just a hair - just enough to make the belt rub a little on the rubber fence in the center pully and make the drive train not run as smooth. It didnt do this before i took it apart and i cant figure out how to make it smooth again
also im trying to run an orion 4800 - i heard i need new steerring linkages to clear the battery - does anyone the part number on the new linkages/ an or a good way to get a 4800 in there

You need the option steering linkage to run lipo but i can't find the part number on the website, im sure someone else can point you in the right direction.

I had a 4800 Orion in my Mi3 without anything modified. It did require precise location of the battery and Ill tell you that it was not perfectly parallel with the chassis.

im think the out drives are on the right way - the female end is ont the motor side - so it puts thediff gear closer to the battery side. i even moved the fences over to try to get the belt as close to the battery side s possible

Thats not what I mean. If you rebuilt the diff then you could have put the pully on the outdrives the wrong way round but still have the outdrives on the right side. The male outdrive needs to go on to the deep side of the pully, check the manual for what i mean.
I got to see Mr. Goetz in action yesterday and his Mi3 was looking most dialed.....................
