Front Overdrive
Any one know if using front over drive w/ spool will wear your front tires faster?

here it is
I tested the overdrive pulley last weekend on a big nitro track. The track was super hot and over heating tires was a major issue. The overdrive pulley made the tires over heat much faster and it was harder to drive once they did over heat. It also made the car steer multiple times in high speed corners. I personally didn't like it in the heat and on a big track.

For my driving style, overdrive is a must have, but my setups are generally pretty different from everyone elses. We havent had a whole lot of super high temps out here in CA since I've been running the Mi3, so I really havent tested on super hot tracks (160F +) but I'm sure the front tires would definately overheat in those conditions.
With my Reedy Race setup, the tires wear fairly evenly. If the car is double steering, we found that it had a lot to do with the rear shock pack. Going to 2x1.2 pistons and heavier oil solved the problem quickly, although I have been going lighter and lighter with no problems.

Keep in mind that Randy likes STEERING and he is a wheel. Many of us would have severe problems hanging on to his car for 5 min but he is super fast with it.
If you want to try overdrive make sure you are running Randy's setup in its entirity...no fudging this or that or it wont work at all. Overdrive is not something you can just throw into your current setup and expect to work.

I think when running the GT ESC you should do minor or one change at a time. From what I understand now the timing will increase RPM so going up in pinion at the same time will make it harder to judge the adjustment.

I was the guy at the IIC running 1mm of anti-dive, overdrive on a 1-way, and saucing the entire front tire and sidewall while everyone else was saucing the inner 1/2 of the tire, lol. Doesnt work for most.
