There is various levels of sponsorship manufacturers can provide for you to represent their products.

Dependent on your return to the company, not just results, but being a good ambassador for their product ( I.E promoting their product in a good manner by helping new people out at the track, offering advise and of course being competitive on track).

Factory or team driver, well Factory driver assumes full A level sponsorship, usually comes with a contract to race for the team and represent their product over a certain period, its not a free ride and comes with responsibilities (I.E can be like a job, lots of travel to international race meetings).

Team driver may just receive support from the manufacturer, in price of equipment, dealing direct with the company, still responsibility and commitment to solely race their product and represent them in a desireable light..

Its all about promotion, the bigger teams such as Xray, AE etc can afford more A level drivers to race their products and attend international meetings, hence they fill more grid spots, and therefore greater chances of winning.

I like the fact schumacher operate a smaller team, being the underdog its a real hoot when we snag the top spots at a national or international level.

how hard is it to get a sponsor?
just im relatively new and the prices of tires and batteries is killer especially when u have to buy new tyres for winter.
i need 3 sets of tiers and there likt $55aus each i just dont have that soughta money cause i invested in a m11, it was a luxury but it helped my driving. next on my list was the novak smart tray to keep batteries in tip top order now i dont know whether to buy some new packs and tires or a hudy set up station?
would be nice if everything was cheaper
im only running 540 hate to see the cost of mod or open nitro tourer

Get the packs and tire's because what good will the set up system do if you don't have the tire's to run on??? Th set up system is nice to have but it seems like your money could go to better use.

A question about mod motors (maybe STLNLST knows)

I picked up a epic 9x2 and when I received it (used) the timing was set at 30 degrees... ran it and it was super fast but the comm seemed to take alot of abuse after 1 run- was wondering if the timing should be set a bit lower? I know little about mods, other than It is funner than stock

Whats a good, safe ratio to start with? I ran it in front of the house with a 9.50. Ran well but that hardly represents racing conditions so a starting point would be nice for the track. Thanx for any help in advance.

I would turn the timing down to 12 degrees and gear to 8.6 to 8.0, depending on how big the track is. Try that and then check the comm after a run.

Josh you really only need one set of tyres to run Logan and if you salvage the rims and inserts you already have that brings teh cost down to $35.

There are plenty of much cheaper but just as good set up stations than the Hudy. The hobby is undeniably an expensive one but only needs to blow teh budget if you let it.

30 degrees... Geez! Like Donny said....turn it down to 12. You can still have fun and the motor will be plenty fast and give you that killer sound you love

Setup systems aren't that important, a good set of setup wheels is all you need. Basically you just need to make sure the wheels don't wobble at all. Now... as a brace myself for the incredible amount of crap Im going to get from Team Hater Schumacher for forgetting my setup wheels at home...
