Yeah, I've always dyed parts black starting with the old 10L/12L stuff in the late 80s (I'm 32, OKAY!?! ) Yeah, the JWorks gears took the dye just fine and look great.

I'm not far behind you. I dyed my RC10 Team Car's suspension arms florescent yellow in the early 90's. I know. I can't believe I thought it looked good either.

Default Diff rebuild

Is it mandatory to use Schumacher grease for a diff rebuild? I assume I could use grease from other brands too, namely HPI.

I used another local company's diff lube and mine are like diamonds right now. It's not hard, just take your time and pay attention to the details.

Default Free to good home......

I have a charger that I am willing to donate to a young kid in need of a charger. Please check around @ your local tracks. All he or she will have to do is pay for shipping from Orlando, Fl. 32825. I originally purchased this charger to charge my starter box for my nitro car. So if you know some one that doesn't have a lot please send me a P.M.

Thanks,
Eric

"future proof" is a marketing term - meaning that Schumacher are confident that the transmission of the Mi2-EC will stand up to whatever motors/horsepower are developed. It means the transmission handles 2006 motors and batteries with plenty of "capacity" to spare. The evidence so far suggests they are correct - it seems pretty bulletproof.

This is as opposed to the Mi2 where the development of horsepower over the past 2 years was threatening to overwhelm the ability of the tranmission to cope.

That's my understanding of the term, but I could be wrong (I was once).

Is there any mods that would work good for rubber carpet? I have seen a few post with mods, I just don't have time to look in 470 pages. Any advice on setting up a mi2 for rubber will help a lot.

Thank you!

This is Teemu's setup from the DHI cup:

I would suggest testing 5-10wt lighter rear oil and experimenting with silver and black sway bars (same front and rear or stiffer in front).

In Vegas in the rubber classes, most of us ran a setup very similar to this ( http://www.racing-cars.com/usa/image...ew_asphalt.pdf ) with a oneway in it instead of a spool. This should be a good starting point for you.
