yeah, your mount does look good. Lets face it, Carbon is the ONLY material to use! Mine is carbon too. Yours is similar to the official Axis 2 part, 'cept that it was S1. No match!

I wondered about the A2 mount and if it would fit BUT this is my first Touring Car (so don't have one from A2) and no one on here has ever said anything about using it so............

A2 mount is too short, and the holes are not wide enough. That was the first thing I tried. But for balance, I think most drivers are putting the transponder behind the motor.

Dark,
I know I have considered it several times but I would get it from SpeedtechRC if I were to buy it online. I just like to support the local guys and I like to get the kits from my LHS so if any of the parts are out of spec I can get new ones fer free.

Hey FoamD....The head of the screws in the screw kits were very thick and they did not sit flush with the chassis. We are trying to get the screws hurried, but that is the only screw they have right now.

PW, as if you didnt already figure it out mine is the one that SB ordered today along with his 6 sets of TakeOffs. I will just wait for the new screw kits to come in and I will order them when I get my threaded shocks and the carpet upper deck. Thanx again

P.S.Is it a 85degree countersink bit for the chassis?

What is the carpet upperdeck? How does it differ from the regular top deck?

Les at MDI said that the original upgraded screw sets came in with some problem, they sat about a mm higher then the countersink hole on the chassis.

I am just going to put mine together with the stock screws...everyone seems so intent on the standard hex screws why doesn't Schumacher just put that into the kit in the North American market?

hehehhe, I was asking myself the same question today about the carpet top plate. I couldnt see any visual difference between the carpet one and the stock one when I looked at Ron Atomics pics of his car. I just wish that Kelly Lunsford would get his screw maker up and running so I can have hexhead screws for my car. I think that some of the guys on here have gone out and bought the screws in mass amounts in stainless steel with the hexheads on them, that may be what I end up doing.

The carpet upper deck simply has less material removed in the center area....the area from behind the steering posts to the front of the motor mount.

This gives the part more torsional strength.

Default Screws

My LHS is lacking...in things like bulk screws etc. Do you guys think I could get good quality ones at a large home improvement or hardware store? Lowe's here in town has endless rows of bulk screws and things....
