Does anyone know if there is a one way diff and or centre pulley for the EC?

If so, what is the part number and availability?

Yep, you're in trouble if it's up to the driver

Default Trying to start things up -- again

Hello everyone,

Its been a year since I was last on this forum. I was racing and getting help here on my Mi2. Then, I was sent away again for work -- this time to India. Anyway, I finally made it back and I see that there is an Mi2 EC now as well as an Mi2 EC USA Foam Spec version.

I guess the obvious questions are:

1) Can I still get parts for my Mi2?
2) Is it more cost effective to get an EC vs upgrading the Mi2? (I would eventually get a new kit but was hoping to wait until next winter because my Mi2 only has a full carpet season under its wheels)
3) Is it cheaper to have a carpet car and outdoor car or is there an upgrade kit to take the EC to Carpet Spec form?

Also, can you still get the Take-off spacers in different color and thicknesses for setting up anti-dive or squat?

This my first full day back and I am still dealing with the time change but I actually have nothing to do for a whole week so I have cleaned and dusted my old work room and have my Mi2 on the table in pieces so that I can clean it up and get it ready for next week.

Any help you can send my way will be greatly appreciated

Thanks

Yeah without a doubt. This question as been posted to Shu USA and they have confirmed that the MI2 parts are going to be around for a while. As a matter of fact I've ordered parts for my original mission up to the later part of last year so you know the MI2 stuff will be in stock for quite some time.

Although much of the upgrades on the EC are based on research/testing with the MI2 there are no real upgrade paths to take from one car to the other. Here is something quoted from KingG in response to one of my post.

...Unless you have modified your arm mounting positions (wider apart) and also the new tower geometry (also wider apart with refined camberlink geometry) with updated rear hubs and narrow hex's. Bellcranks moved rearward some 2mm, gearboxes further apart etc etc...you wont replicate the feel of the E.C from an Mi2

While I cant speak to how cost effective it would be to have both cars considering both are cost considerably more than you may have paid for the MI2, I can say that some of the faster guys; Jon Kerr for example have chosen to go with the carpet spec kit for in/out door racing. The carpet spec offers a more rigid car from what I understand which some prefer to the 'Ultra Flex' kit. Thus if you were looking for a cost effective alternative to having two cars, getting the carpet car is what I would recommend as it seems to work with little setup changes for parking lot racing.

Yep! This has not been a problem for me so Iím sure you LHS will have 'em.

PS. I'll be heading to PUNE, India in March for my job. How was your stay?

as we dont have a carpet track here; ashpault. It was tempting and call to get the carpet with the 'birds coming up and all but i went with the more sensible option. Plust Superior doesnt have the carpet spec yet.

After 3 weeks of having it, i'm finally getting around to building it as we speak. Now where is that screwdriver?.?.?

Clint is safe in the mullet challenge, being the only driver of the 4 in the challenge to make the A. Go STLNLST!

It was on liverc.com. You have to log in, go to view live racing, then pick the Stockton track. STLNLST ended up about 6th i think. He was much more competitive with the EC on foam tires than he was with the MI2.
