Guys, is it possible to convert the mi2 to an mi2 ec? specifically the drivetrain or making it a twin belt full-proof single pulley transmission?

We've had that discussion before. Technically yes, but it's a lot of work, and arguably you can't get the front belt tension quite right.

Possible?- Yes.
Worth the work, time, money, and possibly not have it quite right, when you can buy the factory kit off the shelf?- I don't think so.

By the time you buy all the stuff to do it, deal with all the fabrication, etc... you'll have spent almost as much money as buying the kit and potentially given yourself a big headache trying to get it just right. The Mi2 is still a great car. If you can't go out and buy the new car right away, you'll still be just as competitive with your current Mi2 as you were. You're not going to suddenly get slower because there's a new car out.

you really are better off getting a new car. It has diffrent suspension geometry, diffren hinge pin locations, lighter...cooler looking diff, latshaft and motor mounts, new shocks and it is setup for the new front belt so the front tension is correct.
