Sandor....What kind of tires are you racing on? You can also take some droop out of the car as well. How much droop and camber are you running? Do you have the stiff swaybars or the stock swaybars? How high is your ride high that might be able to be lowered as well. When the car rolls can you feel it start to roll or is it all of the sudden it just flips over?

Adrian.....that stuff is awsome I saw it in Cleveland and wanted to know where to get it now I can get it from you guys awsome.

The 17 tooth pulley is 2.12:1 and the 20 tooth pulley is 1.8:1.

Default Traction rolling...

Sandor, KevinK:
No I haven't tested since with such a high traction carpet. Nevertheless I have prepared my usual solutions to this problem to be taken with me to the next race. These include micro shocks up front, harder front inserts, and harder front compound. Before the regulated tires were introduced, I always ran narrower front tires with good results. That suited my driving style perfectly. BTW, has anybody ever seen two-piece touring rims, that would require no gluing? A little bit like what Associated had in the past for 2wd off-road fronts. There would be a good market for those, if they were light and durable. It's a pain in the ass to check and glue the tires after each round.
Oh, and my rear diff pulley is also a bit warped, like someone mentioned earlier...

I was using TakeOff SWA's With HPI red insert
Droop 2mm front and rear
Camber tried 1.5 and 2 degrees
Stock sways (are they too soft???)
Ride height 5+ mm

I was using big ride height because of some air bumps under the carpet.

I can feel the car start rolling. Sometimes it goes on two wheels trough the corner. If it rolls it is in the middel of the corner.

Car is awesome. I managed to be the fastest in my class on my first time out with the car and on a (for me) new circuit, including the traction rolls!!!

Sandor.....The stock sways are kinda soft they have a stiffer set. If you are running a lot of ride hight take some of the droop out. Start by taking out .5mm and see how it goes and then take more out if needed. If there is a lot of traction then you might want to try 2.5 or 3 deg of camber. That is if you have to run the T.O. SWA's if not try a little harder tire or a stiffer insert. When you said that you can feel the car start to roll you might want to have the shock work a little faster.....ie more holes in the piston ot thinner oil with the stiffer swaybars. When the car slowly starts to roll the shocks maybe over dampened(too heavy of oil or not enough holes in the piston). Some of the only times that my car has traction rolled is when I ran like 80wt oil and 1 hole pistons.....now I run 2 or 3 hole pistons and like 60wt oil and the car does not feel like it wants to flip. I always run a larger or more holes in the rear piston. I may have said this before but when you start to make the car too stiff then all the traction is made to come out of the tires and not the suspension/chassis. When the traction comes up you may need to soften the car up not make it stiffer, just think about that.

Kevin K - thanks for the hints.

I was also thinking about going to a harder tire compound and/or insert, lowering the ride height and the more piston holes (funny, i do also always use one hole more in the rear) .

I will try the competition bars next time.
Is reducing the contact patch the reason for going to 2.5 - 3 camber? Normaly outdoors i never use more than 1.5

I have my shocks layed down, will setting them vertical help??? (less progresive)

That sounds strange but might be true, better without sways makes sens then.

Ok mine is together and I'll be running tomorrow, but I have a question about the belts. I know everyone says to run the pully as low as you can get, but man that belt seems very very loose. Is that normal? Will it slap the bottom chassis?

David-The rule on the front belts is run them as loose as you can without the belt skipping or jumping off the belt tensioner.

Everyone-keep an eye on the results page for the Novak Race at S& N Trackside. Paul Wynn, Brian Jucha and Kevin Kane will be tearing up some carpet there this weekend!
