Hey guys, I'm looking to buy an MI2 for the upcoming fall carpet season. I want to know what upgrades I should order with the car. I am going to get the kit as well as the Shumacher tools. Are there any upgrades that are a must have. I want to make this car as durable as possible. Also I need a good setup for a medium sized indoor carpet track on foam tires. Any help would be great.
Thanks
Andrew

If you want to get the Tamiya shocks, you'll probably want to get the lower carpet shock towers, U2714 front U2715 rear (not required but a good idea) and the BMI upper shock mounts (http://www.pdubracing.com/products.htm)The shocks you can probably get either from SpeedtechRC or I've been able to get them off Ebay. You can find them a little cheaper on there brand new sometimes.

Thanks for the super fast response. Does the car need any drive train upgrades to make it bullit proof? I am planning of racing stock and maybe 19 turn. I have raced offroad for years, but this is my first time on carpet. Any building and set up tips would be great. Thanks guys.

the only part of the drivetrain i found to be lacking in strength out of the box was the front driveshafts. But if you get the steel ones for the front its fairly bullet proof

SQC049- I'd get any of the replacement CVD's. I like the TiR Worlds edition aluminum ones. TNM2564W

piorc- I didn't list the part numbers for the shocks. I'm not sure what they are. As far as Teemu's car goes, the bulkheads you see on his car are ones from the first couple cars produced. They were machined out but Schumacher decided not to go with them to keep the cost of the car down. The belt you're probably seeing the the black front belt that many of us run from the R12. He's also got some different shock towers and such, just playing with geometry and trying new things to get as much out of the car as he can.

The rear diff on Teemu's car is the "normal" front diff.

Yeah, it appears Teemu ran a new belt config, but most of the rest of the car is current.

You guys must be looking at a different car than I've seen. Can someone post up a pic that I may be missing?

John, that isn't a carbon part. It's a moulded eccentric bearing holder
