SpeedXL - I just got a Dynasty 19T with the V2 Endbell. How do I gear it? High like a Reedy? Does it respond to heavier springs like the Mod V2's?

In stock there's only only great motor out right now and that's the monster. Is there even any other company still producing a stock motor? I know that Reedy called it quits on the MVP a while back.

Actually yes it almost like the v2 mod's try heavy on the pos and med on the neg with sprint brushes. Gearing is almost like the reedy quad mag. If you got the tamiya layout still try a 5.30 to 5.80 FD. The motor doesnt fade compared to the reedy.
Adrian note it acts different with the v2 then with std laydowns. I have one with the v2 and it doesnt pull as many r's as the laydown. I only tested one day with about 4 packs through it (track dyno). I am pretty sure I can get more out of it. The 2 with reg laydown pulls harder from mid to high gear!

Well I must be doing something wrong

I can't get any Monster style stocks to work, and I've tried a few brands. They either overheat and fade really bad at the end of a run or they're just plain slow, with no grunt.

I've gone back to my Reedy MVP and now have much better pace
With the Reedy i can push really hard if I need to and the motor just seems to take it, the comm and brushes look great after a run.

Seems like my experience is backwards to everyone else

It does sound like you're a bit over geared. We run our monsters from 7-7.3 depending on the track layout. The MVP was too inconsistent from can to can for me. They ran hotter than most of the other stockers back then. We all switched to the trinity green can back then and now switched to the latest monster. If the MVP works for you that's all that matters.

In the US we gear Monsters in the 8.0 (small carpet track) to 6.9 (big asphalt track).
