Alloy diff supports (Big U piece) should be available soon. They have been available in the UK for about 10 days now. As has the layshaft mounts. Not sure about anything else.

I just finished putting the alloy layshaft mount, alloy diff mounts and grey belts on my Mission. How sweet and smooth!

type s,
there's really no drivetrain efficiency difference between the axis series and the old 2000 pros. the layout is similar to the mission, but a little more weight in the rear. from what i can tell, it doesn't attack the turns like the axis or the new mission. very predictable though. others?

I am gonna run my mission for the first time!!!!!!
I would appreciate if any of you could help me out with a setup for a short fast track.... high traction smooth asphault surface indoor temperature between 55 -70 degrees farenheit...
any help would be appreciated

that reminds me, why is it that there is never a space for ambient temperature, and/or track temperature on setup sheets?

we know that, temperature has a lot to do with setup, especially tires!!!!

just a thot for yall to ponder

As I recall, the sst tore up the tracks around here when the only other competition was from the old YOK (very $$$), the HPI pro(kid's stuff, but still better than the pro 2), the express cars, and the FSR Bullet (where did they go??). Then when the axis came around everyone was abuzz with the TC3 and new Yok (mr4), which lasted through the axis 2. So the Axis cars never got the recognition/attention they where due. Now the excitement has died down there should be many eyes on the mission, with the only "mainstream" new car being the XXX-s, the mission should get the respect it deserves......

Please remember I am from the right coast......LOL

Default ONE-WAY

Just got my new mission one-way. The rear outdrive seems to rub on the inside of the diff!! Does anybody else had this problem???? I'm thinking about putting a little spacer on the axle before putting the small normal bearing on it. That should fix the problem.

I ran three packs throught my Mission last night and it went very well. The only problem that I noticed was that my pinion gear slightly rub on one of the battery bars. Did anyone else have this problem? Here is my set up:

Front:
3 hole on tower
inside on lower arm
up on suspension mount
inside on hub
1 toe out
60wt oil
2 hole piston
red associated springs
ride hight 5mm
castor in middle
1 deg camber

Rear
3 hole on tower
inside on lower arm
up on suspension mount
inside on hub
2 toe in
middle wheel base
60wt oil
2 hole piston
red associated springs
ride hieght 5mm.
1 deg camber

Motor- Reedy 10 double
Gear- 116/30
Drive pully- 17T
Tires- Sorex 24's with HPI red inserts

The first two runs the car was a little pushy but very easy to drive. The third run I put in more caster and put on the sway bars, and it made it turn much better. Coming out of the turn it would get just a tab loose.

What is everyone running for gearing? First I ran a 116/29 but it seemed to wind out to quick and I went to a 116/30 and it seemed better. I was just quessing with the gearing.

JohnnyV- I had the same situation with my pinion rubbing the battery bar. I moved the pinoin in closer to the motor to aviod contact. I have been running Adrians starting set-up. Been going stiffer no sway bars without much success. I am going to try a lighter set-up with sway bars next time, and some variations with rear wheelbase adjustments.

Cornerspeed- Yeah from my few runs with the car it felt much better with the sway bars on. I never ran sway bars on my Axis 2. It was great to make little changes and really be able to fell a difference, which didn't seem to be the case with the Axis 2. I'll have to see how much I can move the pinion around while still having the gears mesh well.

Default Mission

I tested my new Mission last Tuesday night at So Cal raceway.

The kit, and instructions was excellent. The parts went together
With no problems. I started with the stock setup right from the
Box. I have to admit I was a little worried if the car was
To “hook up”. The XXX-S never worked out for me, so I sold it,
And my Axis 2 I had to have Don V help me to get it to run.

OK. Tuesday nights at So Cal every stock racer there is very good,
So I never was able to qualify good. Many times I ended up in last
B main, or usually middle of B main. The track is cold so it is loose
For the first 2-3 laps.

I put the car on the track, and hit the gas peddle. The first thing I noticed
The car just took off, straight. After one lap it felt like I had been driving the
Car for a long time. The car was just great. Easy to drive, great speed, great
Punch, did not spin out on high speed turns. I was just so happy.

I also have the problem of the pinion gear rubbing on the battery bar. Just move
The pinion in a little. I have changed the setup of the car to make the car less
Aggressive. If you want to know my setup let me know. The car is just great
Out of the box. I am a little worried about the front belt. I think a 8 dbl the belt
Will slip, but I don’t know since I do not run mod.

I ended up 2nd place in B main which is about the best I have done on a Tuesday
Night. I got hacked a few times, I might of made the A Main with a clean run.

The Mission is a great car.
