Hey, Jon...ran the Mi2 at the JGTC event in mod this weekend. It ran pretty strong even with the HPI body. Just needs a little fine tuning and I'll be giving you guys a run for money :-)

I'd say the body will help a ton. Get a Mazda or something normal on the car and that'll give you a better idea of how well the car's going to handle. How'd everyone feel about the bodies in general at the race? What body did you end up running? I had bought and painted up a Skyline for the race that is sitting here and will probably never see a race track. Waist of $25.

PW, Adrian, Jon, or anyone else, is there a low friction front drive belt for the Mi2?

the Grey ultraflex is the low friction belt....

I personally use the R12 front belt...nice and durable...and plenty free.

I use the R12 front belt as well. I have since I got the car. Before I started running it Donny had some trouble with the Grey belts and I didn't want to repeat them. But that's also running Mod. I think the Grey one should be fine if you're running stock or 19 turn.

Gary - If you are talking Reedy or Novak brushless neither motor is as powerful as the 7-8 turn brushed motors we are running now. If you are talking Hacker or Lehner you can get more powerful motors but you wont be able to fit the speedo in the car...lol!

Actually...that was me not PW. My PC went out and I am using another PC that PW had used before. I didn't realize I was logged in as PW.

I believe the biggest spur you can fit is a 124 tooth.

The difference in diameter for the odd tooth is next to nothing, and there could be variations between different manufactures. i.e generally machined gears have a smaller overall diameter for teh same number of teeth when compared to moulded gears.

I've got a 128 64 pitch on my car right now and it's fine. it's close, but it's fine.
