Do they race off road at SoCal on Wednesdays? I was thinking about going there for some on road practice since I've never run the Mi2 on that track and I've got the day off.

are you trying to use other belts besides the stock equipment? I have never counted the teeth on the belts before.

No I would like to shorten the wheelbase and move the motor more forward to add steering. I am more concerned about getting the right pitch.

you want to ADD steering?! this thing seems to have crazy steering... what setup are you running? maybe we could just make some tweaks to it and save the belt hunt...

Racing on carpet ever since I started using foams I have had trouble getting enough steering. Wich isnt too hard to believe as most cars are designed to run on asphalt with rubbers. I had the same trouble with my TC3. I modified the battery tray and it is tight up against the steering mount and I can only get 51% front percentage. What I was looking to do is move the motor forward about a half an inch and shorten the wheelbase 6-8 mm I have it as short as it can go now. The car is handling well as is but I think it would be easier to tune with a few drastic change as I think its almost as loose as I can get it. I found a place for belts I just want to be sure of the pitch. I am more of the wrench type than a driver as anyone who races against me can tell ya. I would like to get the weight percentage closer to 53%.

well, before you do the work involved in moving the motor, have you tiried putting some lead wts near the front end to help simulate the 53% front wt? What about moving the front arms back some. The first time I ran my car on carpet, I had TOO much initial turn in actually and had to tone it down.. what compound of tires are you running?

IM running TRC cyans and magentas in low bite situations and purples and plaids in med to high bite. My wheelbase is short on both ends. It took 63g of weight up on the front bumper to get 53%. The car felt better turning in but not at the apex with the swing weight in front of the wheels it was unstable and liked to push in the middle randomly. With the wweight behind the front tires it would take over 100g to get the percentage. The one thing I am thinking might help would be able to get 0 toe in the rear instead of 1.5. I havent figured out how to do that yet tho.

Speedie, if you shorten up the wheelbase by moving the rear arms forward, you'll place more weight over the rear axle and it will push more. BUT if you move the front arms back you'll place more weight over the front axle which will improve handling.

if you get the u2741 alloy rear hub carrier, it makes it easy to change the rear toe with the inserts
