Here is a picture of my brace. I used a piece of carbon fiber from an old shock tower I found in the "old parts bin" at the local hobby shop. The piece cost me only $1. I wanted to keep the riser plate as is in the kit.

However, I used the riser as a template.

Here is the picture of the brace before I installed it on the car.

Thanks for that, but where does the brace go, got a pic of that

thanks again

Anyone can give me a clue about a good starting pinion set-up running brushless in an Mi2 with 95t spur.

Cheers

first run with the new car this weekend.. same as brians11 his schumacher debut as well. Brian TQ'd 19turn and i qualified 4th our of 14.....brian and I as well as two others were the only ones to turn 20 laps. Brian broke in the main, and I was leading the A main with a minute to go when my pinion came off....very nice car...absolutely dialed...just need to tweak some more things to get it faster....very good car....how did everyone else fair?

Donny did pretty well. He got in the A in both mod and 19 turn. I had a rough time in qualifying with a lack of practice. I made a few mistakes in on setup choices and didn't get the car hooked up until practice after the third round and ended up in the B main. My car was fast but the main was rough. I went from 5th to 3rd in two corners. Got knocked to last by a flying car from the other side of the track and worked back up to 6th. Not a great showing but oh well. Donny was flying in the mains but had a little bad luck. He won the third 19 turn main and got 4th overall in 19 turn. I think he wound up in the middle of the pack in mod as well. Clint made the A in 19 turn and stock. Not too sure how he did though. I know Pat made the A in mod as well.

For you Schumacher Mission fans we still have parts for the original Mission cars in our "Mission Parts" section. Plus there might be some in the regular "Closeout" section as well.

Thanks!

ratter:

Look at page 7 of the manual. In Step 2, there is an item named "Front Brace". Do not place that brace in the assembly, this is what is refered to as the "riser plate".

Using the the front brace, you will cut so that it will go on top of the front pivot pin support blocks.

In the manual on page 7 part 1 you will see two screws that hold the front pivot supports. you will have to get longer 3mm screws and then small locking nuts to hold the brace and the front pivot blocks together.

I am at work so I don't have my car with me and cannot take a picture, but I wipped this diagram up that should help you. The top picture shows where about you should cut, the bottom picture shows where the brace should be placed. Its not really that hard once you look at this picture and at the car.

I'm running the stock Tamiya ones. They're the 3 hole one's I drilled out to a #56 size. They're #58 stock. I did that when I was running them on the Losi to match setups and they seem to work very well on the Mi2 as well.

We've been running the Tamiya pistons that come with the TRF shock kit - 2 hole front (40wt oil) and 3 hole rear (35wt oil). This for UK Tarmac tracks on rubber tyres.

Mark - Thats a great setup for anyone that needs a lot of rear grip. Anyone that runs under really low grip conditions need to write that down.

In the US Tamiya Surikarn machined 3 hole pistons (They come with the Fluoride coated shock kit) with 40wt are almost a universal standard for asphalt with AE blue front springs and AE silver rears.

stlnlst finished 8th in 19turn and 2nd in stock. I finished 6th in 19turn and 7th in stock. The MI2 had a really good showing at the Regional this weekend. Don was ON FIRE !!! in the last A-main he was quicker that the top three drivers, kinwald, hodge and cavalari. Him and Hodapp were faster than those guys by far but they had a bad start and Don made I think two big mistakes that did it for him. His car was dialed in that last part of the day on sunday!! The track was really inconsistant on sat we had heavy winds that blew all kinds of dust all over the track and really chanced the track from friday to sat and the crappy thing was is they didnt run qual points so on sunday the rocket round was in full effect. The track was a full lap faster on sunday then on sat. Overall the MI2 was well represented this weekend.
