well i don't know if anyone else has had my problems but my MI2 is just having way to much flex on carpet, I have tried everything to stiffin it up but to no avail, i will be shelving the mi2 and going back to my mission untill i figure this car out. I'm also thinking about buying BMI's chassis for it as soon as its available. Now i will say im not the ggreatest mechanic in the world but i never had any problems like this with my mission. i built the mission and went out and won races. I will be crying in my mi2 soup until i get her tunned in right.

Try the Temmu chassis too. I have seen Nick Stampfel's car on carpet with this chassis and it works really well. I did notice that the flex that helped it on asphalt seemed to hinder it a bit on asphalt, but the car was still pretty good. just see the issues I had last night up in the thread.

If you are running on carpet stiffer is better. On asphalt you are going to have a rough time with a really stiff car. Thats why the Xray guys are so inconsistant. Suspension setup is crucial with a stiff car. On Asphalt the really fast Xray guys are running stock 2.5mm chassis and flexy top decks. Hara won the nats with a 2mm carbon chassis on his Pro 4. He said the car was faster with the 2mm than the stock 2.5mm chassis becuase it flexed more.

The Teemu chassis works very well on asphalt. Its stiffer than stock but over all the car still works very well.

Well like i said in my original post i will keep working on it. My Biggest problem other than the flexing of the chassis is that the steering was so erratic, it would almost spin out everytime on a left turn only. On the flexing i torn the whole car down and reset it and the chassis was straight, went out and ran for a coupl minutes, came back in and the chassis tweak was back. i then loosened up the top deck and retightened it. flex was gone. I even tried running it with the upperdeck a little loose, but that didn't work. This car is brand new never raced or has never wrecked. i don't understand how this tweak keeps coming back.

This may sound too simple but... when I first ran the MI2 with the stock chassis I also had a tweak and the chassis hung lower on the batt side.... after closer inspection I found that my batts didnt fit the fiberglass battery plate very well and the center cells actually pushed the center of the chassis down instead of fitting into the plate.... a little work with a file to increase the end clearance and everything came back to normal. Just a thought

Schumacher MI2 - Are you hitting anything in those 2 minute runs. I cant see how a car can be flat at the beginning of a run and tweaked later without really wacking something on the track.

I know that different TCs have different characteristics depending if you are using a mod motor and screaming through a turn vs a stock motor that has a lot of braking.

With the Mi2, is stiffer always better on carpet no matter if you are running Stock, 19T or Mod? Rubber vs Foam Tires?

Also, if you have a tight track vs a sweeping one, do you still want to run stiff?

I have the carpet towers but the standard CF chassis and I am having a bit of a push (running stock and 19T) and was wondering if its because of the flex. I am looking for a little more roll. Have not tried the spacers yet and I don't have the newer rear hubs yet. I was trying to avoid getting another chassis (low on cash at the moment because I needed repairs on my 1:1 car
)
