Default pinions

Just wanting to know the best pinion size for mission s1? Monster stock motor, novac tc2 speedo, 3300nimh.

Spur 86, layshaft 20.

Track is fairly tight, with 1 long straight(about 20 meters) going into a sweeper.

Any answers would be grouse.

That's great to hear Randy. You'll love the car.

It seems like Evicerator has been hanging around this thread a bit more than normal. Is he looking for a new car to cruise?

WolfRacing - Try a 19 or 20 tooth pinion. A final drive ratio around 8.00:1 is a safe place to start on a small track. Keep in mind that the Monster Stock has lots of RPM and no torque at all so it need a low gear to go fast.

After testing I found that the palstic cvds are the way to go for 19t. The car seems to rip just a little harder than with the steel ones.

I run on a tight high grip indoor asphalt track. If anyone is near MI you guys should come check this place out.

Any problem with premature wear on the bone where the retainer pin goes through? I had that running 19 turn with aluminum cvd's on my Losi.

jkerr0043, I have been running the same pair of plastic CVD's on the rear of my car for a little over 4 months and there is pretty much no wear on them.

Jon, on the Ti bone, make sure the steel sleeve has not worked it way loose. thats the only wear I have had. Pesonally on my car, I run the plastic bones in rear and Ti in the front and the only wear I have had is when the sleeve worked it's way out.
