For the guys who have the new alloy rear toe uprights, how do you get the different toe settings?I hear there is an insert in the block that changes the toe?Does it also matter by changing the inboard block to gain even more or less toe? And finally are the hub similar in geometry as the stock hubs? axle height etc?

Racenut, the new alloy rear hubs have different geometry to the kit hubs, in that the distance between the lower hingepin and the axle is greater by 1.5mm. I was told this proved effective in allowing the car to rotate better.

also the ballstud heights are different to standard, also the fact that they are mounted vertically, allowing fine tuning of rear roll centre height.

the plastic inserts allow outboard toe adjustment in 1 degree increments..I am currently running the 0 degree insert, with 2 degree inboard (alloy mounts)...Next to try 1.5 degree inboard (kit mounts) with 1 degree hub inserts.

I've had the hubs on my car for around 3 weeks now, very pleased with their effect, both visually and on track!.

racenut- if you aren't going to get the rear hubs before the next night race in Modesto (next weekend) Mo and i will be down there again and you can take a look at our cars. The car felt great with the spool set up I had on the car. The spool is easier to drive and is faster than the oneway. (I never thought I'd say that in this life time) We are going to have a blast next weekend if you show up this time....LOL

I have been waiting to try the spool setup again. Last time Modesto raced I was out of town.So Jaime and I are gonna come out next weekend. Is the turn-in the same as the oneway in your opinion? I have got my oneway car really good and very consistant.I can imagine the spool would be super consistant and easy to drive to boot.

King g- the aluminium inner hingepin mounts I noticed are not the same geometry as the plastic mounts. Can someone show or explain how these are to mount to the chassis so I get 2 degrees of rear toe?

racenut- dont wait to put the setup on just do it. In modesto I ran the oneway car and the spool car back to back and the spool was faster weird but the car was hooked!

This is the way my rear end is set up right now and I really like it. The It's stable and has nice steering with a spool.

The turn in is pretty good once you find a decent set up. Hopefully Wittman will be back out there. He really helped me get the car where it is right now. I got the car to rotate without having to add anti-squat in the rear. It's going to be fun nextweekend. Good luck and bring some ponies.

I picked up one of the new Airtronics synthesized receivers and will be trying it out tomorrow, along with the new Keyence Rapida speedo. Here is a pic of the electronics layout on my car.
