Can you please advise when / if the PW chassis and top deck will be released?

My friend received the new thick chassis and top deck for his xray, and it made a huge difference, car looked soo stable and was able to transition so fast. the flex in the MI2 is one of the things i would like to cure, the car always feel a little unstable under foot, this is racing single digit mods, on foams outdoor asphalt.

is the 2.5mm teemu chassis stiff enough

I was very impressed with the Mi2 at the Roar On Road Nats in Portland. Those cars rocked in all 3 classes!

My question is...my local track may be moving to carpet....how much time have you guys got on carpet with the Mi2? What are any equipment changes (chassis) need for carpet? Any info on that would be great.

Foam tire outdoor setup is finally coming around. My car was silly hooked yesterday. Too bad I broke a front arm....oh wait make that FOUR front arms. I have to say that was the worst day of racing I have endured. My car was soooo good and I would just rub a pipe a little and rip off the front end. I will admit one of the arms was my fault, RCOldman was about 10 feet in front of me and hit a pipe and I remember thinking, OH MAN NOT HIM TOO and i parked my car right next to his. talk about a brain fart.

We ran at the Snowbords and the Carpet Nats. We got the cars running pretty well but we do have a lot more time with the car on asphlat than on carpet.

That said we should not have any problems at all in getting the car hooked up on asphalt. If I were getting a car setup for carpet/foam I would get the following parts:

U2714 and U2715 Low Shock towers. There is no body height rule at most foam tracks so these let you slam the body so it looks right with 57mm trued foams.

U2744 Alloy gear adapter so you can run 64 pitch

U2765 and U2766 Carbon arms...stiffer is better on carpet.

U2696 MIP steel dogbones to upgrade the stock plastic drive shafts.

Remove you riser plates and cut the front one to make a strap to tie toget the tops of the front arm mount. This strengthens the front of the chassis in crashes.

You need to run orange/double pinks (Trinity Cyan) in front and double pinks (Trinity Magenta) in rear.

As far as special stuff for carpet thats it. Cartwright uses the stock chassis on carpet right now.

Hey Adrian, is Take Off still working on carpet foams or are they just sticking to the nitro car foams. The nitro foams have been working great for me on the R12.

Our carpet season doesn't start until October. I can't wait to see what the car can do.

Well,
Thanks to all who helped out this weekend, Billy Spence - SMC, Angelo - Trinity, Kevin Boyle - ORL2 Assistant director, and any one else I missed.

The MI2 Was dialed! Was on a A Main run in stock when I broke the car. DOH! qualified 4th in the B. in the main got hit at the start and ended up dead last! worked my way through the field and showed them how it's done by lapping the field and winning the B.

In mod I qualified 4th as well and was running 2nd when I dumped. come to find out after the start I was hit and the belt came off the lower tentioner. It was rubbing the bearing which caused me to dump! Still finished 4th.

All in all not a bad weekend concidering my misfortune on friday morning. IF any one hasn't tryed T.M. Racing Foam tires TRY THEM!!! I used one set all day and they are still good enough to run another weekend!

Adrian,

Do you have any more info on the carpet mod that you mentioned below? I am running on carpet and don't have any of the special stuff yet (Shane from Fastlane ordered it from you today) but didn't know about the riser plate mod....

Thanks!!

Its pretty simple. If you take the riser plate off and hit the front of the car on the track you will break your chassis. The forward front arm mounts will rip out of the chassis. To stop this from happening cut the riser plate into a strap to tie together the tops of the forward front arm mounts. Now it strengthens the chassis just like if it were mounted in the stock position but now you can lower you roll centers for carpet.
