I guess I'll see you guys there I'll bring my mi2 let you look it over. Tim said he will let me use the carpet towers.
I drove his car and like it with the pdub equipment. not being used to his car i was able turn lap times 2 to 3 tenths faster than with my own mi2.
Car had more feed back and alot more consistan with the pdub chassis!

Ok...I'm as guilty as anyone but lets get back on track...

The new machined Mi2 pulleys are in and are very nice. They make the car obscenely free.

The guys at the Reedy Race figured out a few things....

1. The PW base setup works everywhere and is almost perfect or at least a really good starting point.

2. The lower camber link hole on the rear hub carrier is good when you need to get more rear rotation to get into and out of corners.

3. Don't get too crazy with the shock oil. Stay in the 35wt - 50wt range on asphalt.

4. Don't go too stiff on springs. 20lb to 15lb in front and 10-15 in the rear is a good range to stay in for asphalt.

5. Tamiya shocks with the 3 hole piston and Schu shocks with the 3 hole vari-piston and the same wt. oil run exactly the same on the track. The only difference is the Tam shocks are easier to build and bleed. That said we will have new shocks for the Mi2 and R12 by late summer. They will be a top cap, bladder design like the Tam shocks but with a few very significant improvements (less static friction, ball grippa lower cup, metal one piece top caps, Ti shafts with a new low friction coating, o-ring metal threaded preload adjuster and more...)

I think KO. Its always their drivers that seem to have them. Mo might know...they seem to be a west coast thing.

Note that you CANNOT run Schottky's on a Keyence. If you do you will blow high speed fets. The instructions tell you not to run them and they will void the warranty.

adrian actually ko has a hyperfet thinga makigger they sell but the thing this guy is talking about novak is selling aswell you solder it to the speedo like a cap.

all it is, is a schotty diode rapped nicely. so like if you have a car like a 12 scale or limited room to install a diode on the motor you would use this.

Default Check this out

Another practice run at Hobby town.
Started with a new setup for the MI2 and a Brand New R12Team. Some of the fast guys showed up. Most importantly Scooby Horton "The Fast Guy" LOL. This will be a good test for the new setup and new car!

19 turn open:
WOW what a difference. The new setup was great! Car turned in much better had more grip and carried better overall corner speed. Qualified 4th with 23 laps. Scooby ran a 25 on foams the other 2 in front of me ran 24's. I stayed true to my rubber tires. Finished the main in 4th not a bad day at all!

Mod Nitro:
Another WOW actually a HOLY S@#$! This car is awesome. I ran Paul Winn's setup from the winternats with a few changes on Foam tires. First round I ran a 24! Scooby was scrambling!!! He also ran a 24. Second round I ran a 25! Scooby was worried now cause he still ran a 24. Third round I decided to sit out and watch Scooby, save my car for the main. He ran a 23. So I TQ'ed!!!! 10min main. I got a good start and was running second. The leader clipped a pipe and I drove right by, never looked back. I drove safe and not aggressive. I finished with 7 laps on the field!!!!!! After the race Scooby and I took a few more laps and this time I decided to POUR it ON!!!!! WOW! Needless to say he was impressed and so was I. Now this was with a $99 omega .12 motor running on YS 20/20 airplane fuel!!! New motor and some race fuel, this thing will be SMOKIN!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks to all!

Fred - I'm pretty sure those are the ones from Novak that you have to run with the GT7. I'm not positive, though.

Are there any heat sinks for the Keyence around the office somewhere? I don't have one for the speedo you sent out the last time. We have the Speedworld cup coming up this weekend. Mo and I will keep you guys posted on how everyone is doing.
