Hey everybody its good to see that we still have a place like this after RCtouring is gone. Hey Adrian M. who will you guys have at the Chicago Hobby show will Robin be making the trip in for that? I will see you guys there.
I'm thinking of buying a new car and the Axis2 is one of my options because it's cheap (over here) and it's doing well in the Belgian National Championships.
But, if I were to buy it, are there any parts that I should be buying with it to be competitve?
Please be honest and report all of the stuff that you would buy to make your car better.
If it goes over the price tag off a Corally C4.1 I'm getting that one.
+ Is the Axis2 a hard car?
(I'm in the hobby for about 5 years now, I know how to drive (learned it with a Tamiya Mini in a club-championship with all touring cars, am now still drivig my HPI RS4 PRO. Setup is another thing... not really gifted in that one).
Any other info you could thing off would be great too
Stinj- First thing I did before I even put the car together was, I bought the purple aluminum motor mount(thats a must) and the 64 pitch gear adapter, beacuse I hate 48pitch. Other stuff are just "nice things to have" like threaded shock bodies, c/f chassis, alloy lower bulhead etc. In all honesty the car is really great out of the box! Just the plastic motor mount that comes with it doesnt cut it. Any other info you need about the car, feel free to ask me or any other schumacher driver on here~! O yea did I mention the alloy motor mount was only 39 bucks.
Cool, I have yet to meet you in person but talk to you on the phone many times. I will be there saturday and stop on by and see all the new goodies that you are comming out with.
guys, im pretty sure im getting an Axis 2. I need a good starting setup to run on smooth asphalt. I run 50/55 weight oil and red AE springs all around with Take oFF tires...I don't really try to adjust camber or anything yet because im not that hardcore..I run stock also, Thanks
Does anyone have any kind of issue with the threaded shock bodies. I haven't put them on the car yet, but it seems to me that they should be threaded further down. It may all seem different when they are on the car i supose.
AE_Racer - Glad to here you will be getting a A2! You will love it!
I will post my setup, because its basically the setup to have! lol

Arm shock mounting position: hole number one
Upper camberlink position: hole number 2

ride height: 5mm
Rear:
shocks: 66mm
oil:70(trinity)
piston: 2 hole
spring:blue
camber: -2
toe: 2.5 degrees(each side)
droop: 3mm
tower position: hole number 2
Arm shock mounting position: hole number 1
Upper camberlink position: hole number 2

ride height: 6mm
Run whatever Take Off tires that suit your track temps. THis setup should get you about 90% dialed to the track, other 10% would be changing fine adjustments; camber, toe, shock mount position.
alright, im probably gonna race it the friday after tomorrow and i'll try that...I can't wait...also, it comes with the ABS center, and the front one way(Still has orig diff too). Should I use oneways? Or lock center and put in front diff? my track used to be kinda sweeping, but they changed it, and my friend ran a stock worlds and was doing way better than he was with his reg MR4 without the one-ways...
Is that the setup you use at RC Madness. Last Friday I was racing offroad and saw someone driving a completely dialed axis 2 around the track. It was painted white.
AE_Racer- Yea I was talking about Blue schumacher springs. lock the center one-way pulley and put the front diff in. If you wanna try the one-way go for it, but I dont use it.
