Default Purple Mission

I hope the final production version has one major change over the pre-prodution cars;

lose the purple!!!

Otherwise I will make it my mission to blast it off (the purple that is) 'cause I can't be without this car it's just too awesome...

Schumacher IS purple...

Just like Associated is blue and Losi is...blue and Yokomo is...blue (lol). Actually, its really Purplonium, a very rare metal known for its amazing speed and lightness. Its actually one of many secrets as to why Schumachers are so fast...

bodies?

just wondering what types of bodies do most run on the axis 2 for carpet. i currently have been running the protoforom stratus but had just discovered that andy's makes a carpet type b body as well as the type a. i am planning to race carpet soon and was wondering anyones take on those bodies in particular or any other stratus' brands that "work". thanks.

Default mission

just wondering if any plans for that new bumper to include a way to install the alumnium body post mounts on it. only reason i ask is the fact that the plastic ones seem to strip out as opposed to grabbing the post like the alumnuim ones. and what is the function of the rear deck on for the body posts? just inquiring. the car looks awesome just a few nit picks. ha.

Default Steering wooble??

Has anyone else experienced the inside wheel wobbling? When I come around a turn I notice that my inside wheel vibrates/wobbles back and forth. I have not noticed the outside wheel doing that. I'm using a 525 hitec servo, do you think that it might be that the servo is not strong enough? The cups are still tight, I tried using O rings but it only causes centering problems. Any suggestions?
Thanks

Hi Guys

Well the 1st day back to the race track in a while proved to be a good one. Qualified 2nd and finished 2nd in Touring Stock A-main.

Thank you to all who gave me advice on the latest set-ups, I really liked the one way front diff. Once I put that on my lap times dropped by 5/10ths. Just need a little more ommmph out of my motor and batteries to put the Axis 2 up front next weekend.

Still dreaming about the Mission that car looks fast.

Again thank you guys all of your tips helped a lot

If you want to get rid of the purple, blasting is a very very bad option. There are basic chemicals available to remove the aluminum oxide. Then you can anodise it the color you want to and that is easy too.

Default Blasting

Since it's Puplonium there will be no reason to blast it away.

I love purple,
I love purple,
I love purple...

Maybe I can learn to love it... just another Mission

minicooper: Check the CVD joints. I the same problem and it turned out that the CVD had developed slop as a result of the aluminum wearing out.

I can't tell from the photos, but are the shock bodies threaded?

Will both versions of the Mission (S1 and carbon) be available at the same time, or will one be delayed?

Can aftermarket spur gears be used?

Last, about when will it be on hobby store shelves?

Ok how do you anodize? hehe

I might turn the purple to silver

I kow you have to put the parts into a solution and put a certain voltage through the solution. Are there any steps on the net and list of voltages for what colours?

Thanks

Geppetto: I can answer two of your questions.

No the included bodies shown there are not threaded. If you really want them, the schumacher threaded bodies used on the Axis cars will fit perfectly.

No you cant use aftermarket spurs. At least not out of the box. You have to buy a gear adapter to do so. Most of us guys here who have owned a Schumacher at one point or another already have one. Thats why you don't hear many people talking about it. It goes for like $12 bucks and is anodized purple and rotates very true. Thats alot better than the $35 bucks that you have to pay for the only gear adapter availible for the XXX-S right now.

Darkside: Don't even mention the XXX-S. I just finished building the kit last night (except body post, electronics etc.), and I'm throughly unimpressed!!! I certainly can't make any judgements about the way the car handles or drives. To tell the truth, I probably won't have it long enough to find out.
