Well, the State Race in Shreveport LA was a lot of fun and there was some good racing.

I made the show in expert rubber, but unfortunately since I've only run on carpet 3 times, I could only pull off a 7th place win. I was in 3rd or 4th for a while, but got tied up trying to pass someone and got a little intimate with a 2x4 . After that, I had to limp the car the rest of the race with a broken front upper arm...lol.

I was able to get in enough runs to do a little tuning and found out that Ron's Snowbirds setup is still about as good as you're gonna get on carpet with average traction. I was able to get rid of the traction rolling by using 70 wt/2 hole vari but it seemed to take away a little side bite. May have hurt lap times just a hair, but when you consider that it made the car easier to drive and that just one traction roll would take away all of the lost hundredths, it's definately better. BTW, the setup sheets are wrong about Ron's snowbirds setup. He was running like 40 or 50 weight shock oil.

Who all is going to the Snowbirds race in February? We need some Schumacher representation!!! I was there this year, and I can tell you that it was the most fun race I've been to yet. I can't wait for next year!!!

Default NEW Mission Pro Diff

Does anyone know if Schumacher will give us free parts to update our old style diffs to the new Pro Diff? I just got another kit and it came with the old style diffs.

Well guys, since I wasnt able to make it to Shreveport, I did the next best thing and headed out to the local races. I havent raced in about three months, so was really worried about the setup for racing asphalt again after carpet for so long, and if I could still drive. Ended up pleasantly surprised, ending up with TQ in Stock and taking first in the A...

I love this car...

Big Dog...not sure about Snowbirds yet...hope to go, but will depend alot on a couple of other major influences in my life, namely work and kids. I'm with you though..best race I've ever been to, bar none.

The new pro diffs have a thrust race design that is similar to the axis diffs. In that the thrust race loads from the middle and uses a circlip to secure it. The thrust race is actually the same one as was used in the older car.

The different parts are Thrust race, Outdrives, Screw set, Centre ballrace.

It was anounced on Schumacher's site 7-10 days ago. They have said that all cars produced from November will have the updates.

Yes, Markg looked good out there at HT in Austin for not racing for a while. Just like riding a bike you don't forget. He ran into some lap traffic... other than that he was on rails!

Well Fireblade, I just raced the Mission(bone-stock except for gear adapter) for the first time this past weekend(125'X50') and I must say I WAS impressed, much, much more corner speed than my XXXS through the corner's. Front diff's are in both cars. I am one happy camper

Its nice to hear that The xxx-s is more of a "Stable" car to drive, the mission is more of a "sportscar" and can get in and out of places quickly. As you said the mission has lots of corner speed, if you think its good right now just wait until u drop a one way, roll center mod and RW's. It would be freakin fast! I need to get me some RW's, at the track I rolled james's car with out no motor and that thing felt as if it could roll for miles.

Once again, Schumacher has proven to us that their designs and ideas sets them apart from the rest. Giving us just about the fastest car on the market!

This may be a stupid question...

Will the new pro diffs work with the RW pullies?

TIA for any response...

Mark, Yes as far as i know. If you look at the list below it shows the revised parts. THis was taken from the schumacher site and the pullies aren't mentioned, so they must be teh same.

markg...Yes, the diff pulleys stayed the same. You can run either the stock pulley or RWs with the new pro diff.
