Just wanted to give props to fellow team drivers, Timmy Heiser and Kevin Kane for a job well done at Octoberfast. Not sure how they finished, but I know Timmy qualified 3rd in the A-main....Great start to the carpet season and can't wait until Cleveland.

Thanks Paul....Timmy finnished 4th I belive and he had a very good car in the main but trafic was not so kind to us this weekend in the mains. I qualified 8th in the B....I could not get the power out of my motors like what Timmy and the others were getting so I suffered on the huge track....but oh well. I went from 8th to second on the first lap and was in a battle with the guy in 3rd when a lapper took me over a lane and that ended that hope of a higher finnish but I ended up 6th. This race was a lot of fun and it showed that the Schumachers can run with the big guys on foams on carpet.

Bigdog: yeah, I was doing well with the Mission. But it really wasn't about that. Around here, we're getting ready for winter and there are very few indoor tracks which means racing, but not much. So really most of us(me included) are already thinking about next season. I recently had an epiphany that, because this is still just a hobby for me, I need new stuff to keep my excitement level up from season to season.

So with that in mind, I'm switching to a new car for the same reason I switched from my original Schumacher -> Xpress -> Yokomo -> Schumacher -> Corally -> Schumacher.... Just for something new to keep my interest in the hobby. I'm also getting a new charger(even though the one I have is good) and trying nitro sedans next year. All for something new and different. Its just the way I am with this hobby.

n00b Alert!

Hi guys, New to this forum, So I figured I would start to let my ?'s roll. I just recently recieved a STS2000 Touring Car and need some information on it. First, what servo mounts and servo saver should I use? Also, is there a website for Schumacher touring cars? Lastely, is there any information that is must plain knowledge that everyone knows that should be passed down? IE- Tranny problems? Handling Problems.

Kevin K,
I am thinking of getting a Mission for the winter carpet season. Please let me know your setup for Octoberfast (body, springs, oil ...) and what extras you have on your carbon Mission; such as: carpet top deck, warpseed chassis, rw pullies, titanium parts, threaded shock bodies and any roll center mods. Thanks so much.

RCDan-O: Which SST2000? (almost all of the cars were listed as -Name- SST2000). Are the batteries all on the right side? Straight or angled? Is there a conventional top plate or tie rod links? These questions should help identify the car.

Anyway, the car should have a built in servo saver in the left steering block. The Schumacher web site is WWW.Racing-Cars.Com. The servo mounts location depends on the model of the car, but usually the mounts are just two plastic mounts that go from the chassis to the servo. Hope that starts you off...

RacerX Here I figured Pics would help.

Pic 1

Pic 2

Pic 3

The body posts were moved, so the guy said, to give the car a cleaner look. Any help would be appreciated.

TY.....Here is what I ran
Front
70wt Losi oil
#3 associated piston
Yellow Trinity Congo springs 35lbs
#3 hole on the tower
Shocks 66mm long
Outside hole on the lower arm
Inline on the hub and ground 2mm of the top of the front hub
#2 hole for steering
6 deg of castor
2 deg of camber
.5 of toe out
raised front R C 1mm
droop at 4 on Integy gauge
Ride height at 3.5mm
Lower arm spaced to the middle
Ackerman is less then stock by 2mm
TM Plaid tires

Rear
50wt Losi
#2 associated piston
Blue Trinity Congo spring 25lbs
#2 hole on tower
Shocks 66mm long
Outside hole on lower arm
Inline on the hub
1 deg of camber
3 deg of toe-in
droop at 4 on Integy gauge
rideg height at 4mm
lower arm spaced to back(long wheel base)
TM Purple tires

I ran the Warpspeed chassis in 3mm with the standard top deck and I run the front shock tower in the rear and have them doubled up in the front and rear. I ran my tires at 2.28 and the gearing I ran was 95/29 but should have been two teeth heigher for the track....I found this out later. I used the RW pulleys front and rear and used an alum 20t pulley with a gray belt in the rear only. I have threaded shocks and the alum front and rear trans housings as well as alum Y blocks. I ran both the Proto stratus 2.0 and the Trinity Carpet stratus and the Trinity carpet stratus is a far better body it made my car work better and felt more stable on the straight.

Yuk, it says I have broken links and I know the pics are good. If you want to see them pm me and I can send them to you RacerX. I will try to tell you about it. The batteries are on the right side of the car and it is an angled pack (Split Pack). The tie rod link seem to pop on just like other RC cars (Losi, Associated, ETC.) You said the cars "were" listed as 2000's. Does this mean they stopped making Schumacher touring cars or just changed to a different style?

Dan-O: They still make touring cars, very fast touring cars as a matter of fact. They just quit calling the cars SST-2000s once Y2K hit. It sounds like you have one of the early cars, either the original or the '97. They were (are) good cars, very strong since the current cars still use many of the original (although now modified and improved) part designs. Check out the Schumacher web site for pictures, parts diagrams and setups for the car. I unfortunatly haven't kept any of my old setups, so thats most likely the best starting point, or just keep your eyes open here and I'm sure someone will have more info for you...
