O yea. I run Ti hinge pins and Ti Turn Buckles. The stock ones can brake easily and for the hinge pins. I herd that they brake a little easier but they dont bend, they brake. Ide rather have a broken hinge pin to tell me to replace it instead of a bent one that messes me up in a race.

Impact- show me your math to get 9.11
That's about what I would gear a 9double.

I don't understand the numbers you guys are stating as gear ratios.
Here in Australia at the TFTR track we have the best, highest level, club racing in the country and everyone gears stocks and mods around 6:1.
I personally hold the fastest lap record for stock and that was done running the 31:86 with the 2.12 internal - about 5.85 I think.
I might also mention it was done using a P2K2 Pro, straight out of the packet, no mods.

Godzilla......How big is the track that you are racing on? With that ratio you have got to be on a track with 120ft straight or more. We all need to consider the size of the tracks when we say what ratio we are using. If the track is super long then yeah you can run a lower number ratio or if its short then you can run a higher number ratio. The ratios I run are mostly on tracks about 80 to 90 feet long and some are tighter then others so you need to adjust for that. There is no magic ratio that you will always run at every track. I dont think anybody is wrong with what ratio they said they are runnig we need to look at other factors like what size track and how tight it is and what not.

Well let's see.... looking at the ratio chart in the back of my manual.........

Pulleys 17/36

86 Tooth spur
20 tooth pinion

FDR=9.11

I stumbled across this at a tight indoor asphalt track (60x40).

I was practicing with a 16T double, and when I switched the MVP in I forgot to change the pinion, and it was silly fast, then I realized what I had done I switched in the 24 I usually used.... and it was slow!!!!

I run the same ratio at the local track which is carpet, and a little smaller, but not as tight......

Almost have my #2 Mission ready for its test drive. I built this one w/ raised RC. Cant wait to try it. Hey Adrian, I was told by Hobby Central that you will no longer be carrying the CS Rocket Max ESC's, this true? If so too bad, I like mine a lot. Just waiting for the last goodies for the new car to further the first car.

Kevin K, yeh our straight would be about 40 metres long so you're right. What size tracks do you guys race on? I'd call TFTR a medium-large track, we have bigger.
Last year in our state champs race, the winner ran stock (mvp I think) at 4.3:1, he was stupidly fast when he got a smooth flowing run.
