Sorry mate, can't help with the 3.5 setup but this thread does need a bit or input with the release of the mi4 cx.
What's the story? How's the build and what's it like to drive?
Mine should be here sometime in the new year I hope!

Some nice pics there.
I especially like the attention to detail that can be seen. The engraved driveshafts and diff cams etc
Looks like Schumacher went to town this time and the kit rivals the build quality of Xray and Tamiya
Really looking forward to my build now - roll on Jan 2011!

I am in the middle of building my new MI4 CX. I did have an xray T2 009 and I can assure you the Schumacher has some way to go before it builds anything like an Xray

Well I had many Xray cars (from T1 FK04, T2, 007, 008 to 009) and I don't find it any worse than Xray in terms of build.
Yes it's a bit more difficult to put together pulleys as you have to snap on sides and greases should be delivered in pots, but apart from that it's as nice kit as Xray. Doesn't have fancy coloured manual, but each step is in individual package so you can't really get lost.

Oh and in long term - I find Schueys more durable than Xrays (I see that on sales of spare parts during races here as we sell both brands).

All in all I think that Schuey is equal to Xray.

I quite agree. I ca't remember the last time i actually broke my car - worn out yes - broke nope!

What are the new driveshafts and spool like? how have people been finding them? looks like it will no longer be necessary to source aftermarket ones!

Hey, I Have only had my CX out for 1 meeting but it is defiantly a better overall package, the car is lighter and more upmarket. In terms of driving it had a good bit more steering than the LP and seemed to carry corner speed better!!

The drive shafts and spool are outstanding so far :-) very little play in them, no wear when i had checked them, the pins ect are all beefier so there should last alot longer, an NO, no need to go for the aftermarket kit anymore.
