I run 35/70 you could gear it up a couple of teeth depending on track temp

Like I mentioned @ the SP thread...tell Adam it is the DRIVER, never the CAR...

P.S...your sig is missing a RC car brand...I am sure you know which one.

I can only tell you indoor carpet....used 17.5 on Mi3.5 with SP speedo (novak 17.5 and SP 17.5) FDR was 4.1-4.3 because it was a 80 footer x 50. Since your track and may be deeper...you can go as high as 3.9-4 range...check your motor temp for adjustment.

13.5 motor...4.5 to 4.7 range (my track is tighter, so I use 4.8-5 range)

Default mi3.5 race

Hi.
Recently purchased a mi3.5 race and having a couple of problems.
First let me point out im a novice to on road circuit racing but have lots of (20yrs+) of rc experience.
The track i race at is Don Valley indoor in the Uk its a cold hard rubber running track surface, bumpy with low grip.
Im running a SP 13.5T brushless stock motor with a LRP Sphere 2007 esc, Gearing is 89 spur 23 pinion.
I had to do some initial adjustments just to be able to get round the circuit without constantly spinning out under accelartion, I set the speedo power delivery to the lowest value, and the transmitter is set to 90% power and steering, and expodential is at +25% power and steering.
I then changed the front springs to blues, set the front upper shock mounts to the inside holes and the rears to the centre, and swapped out the front spool for a diff, (which had to be spun over so the belt was on the left of centre because it rubbed on the battery when fitted as per the picture in the manual) Everything else is as factory built.
Now its much better on the high speed turns either on or off power, but the back end still spins out on the low speed/tight turns when accelerating.
What do you reccomend i try next, higher weight shock oil in the rear or something else?
Also does anyone have the std kit built setup sheet because there is'nt one in the manual, just incase it was built wrong at the factory intially so i have a good base setting to go back to.
Regards
Craig

Hi Craig,

What do you have for tires? Maybe a soft foam like Green would help. I always start with Jaco double pinks in the rear and double pink & orange in the front. Then you can go to a softer compound based on your run.

In my experience you'll want to soften the suspension, not firm it up if you're looking for more grip. Make sure your rear tow in is maximum.

Get your gears so you hit top speed on your longest straight, and then use your ESC or radio to help control spin outs on initial power. Many TXs allow you to set a curve on acceleration.

My 2 cents, but there's some experts out here that will have other ideas too.

Thanks for the reply Banter.
Rubber tyres only and no addatives allowed at the circuit, the tyre of choice is the Nosram 27R so thats what im currently using.

Craig
