Im wondering how moving the belt over and sliding the electronics in helps. After weighing every part of the electronics and dividing it in six quadrents the only heavy one on the left is the motor which is 185 grams. htey lipo split evenly is 90 grams per area for a smc 5000.the lightest is the servo with transponder at 56 grams .The speedo and reciever are pretty close to 90 grams which cancels out the lipo weight.I have 30 grams of tungsten under my servo that brings the front equal.I placed 60 grams of tungsten on the back outside of the lipo.whit is a little short of what it should be .But with evrything setup and all shock collars equal the tweak comes out within a quarter of a turn every time.fill me in if im missing something? And will the diff loosen if ran backwards even with the allen coming from the back to lock it?

The diffs wont come undone if you have the set screw properly tightened. I believe the missing component of your system is the leverage each piece has relative to the center line. Moving the belts and sliding the electronics over reduced the leverage those pieces have. Something like a seesaw with a fat kid and a skinny kid. If the fat kid moves closer to the fulcrum/centerline his leverage is reduced and the seesaw will balance. Same thing if the skinny kid were able to move further out on the seesaw.

I understand the theory but the motor hangs out the furthest that is why i measured everything from the centerline plus ran the light motor mount with the rest the stock ones cause the light left side weighs the same as the heavy right side. What kind of wheel weights are you guys coming up with? my car came out with 48 % front and 52% rear weight. Also Has anyone done the geometry to figure out the roll centers ? I mapped out jimmy madisons setup for carpet rubber tires and the roll center is on the ground.I guess i have to much time on my hands, next is plotting all the akerman settings with the different bell cranks.

I am considering a used Mi2 for VTA(Vintage Trans Am) racing. Who has a good selection of parts for this car in the USA? Are any of the parts the same as the newer cars?
Thanks for any further information

If your is Mi2, very limited...if your is Mi2EC, yes, arms (f/r), C-hub, rea hub, steering knuckles, hinge pins, CVDs, shocks...all the same as Mi3/Mi3.5.

Well, everything you mentioned besides rear hub & steering knuckles actually fits the original Mi2 as well. Shocks are different (and the MI2 schocks are a major PITA). I can't remember what was different in the front & rear hubs, they probably fit, but something was different in their dimensions, was it offset?
