I might just do that also. I think I will just order the 4000mah which is 20.5mm x 47mm x 136mm. You think I will plenty of runtime for 19x1/10.5?

Not clue on SMC LiPo's runtime????

All I can speak on is the Core's and I was running about 21 minutes in 13.5 this afternoon before it hit the cutoff.

I was also about 1 second off the 10.5 lap times so they're very close, so I would say you should able to make a race

That was a 5000mah correct? Well, running over 21 minutes I guess that answered my question!

We've found a couple different ways, strapping tape works good but you have to factor in the left to right movement.

I used the U3222 Battery strap, I removed the backbone and servo taped it to the top of my battery and used 3mm spacers under the posts to hold it in and not bind the chassis.

if there were a premount available with a thicker insert and that would have stopped the traction rolling then i would use it, but i don't know if that would have been the cure. i guess i should have mentioned that i traction rolled with the old sp30, sorex 28, cs32, instead of chasing setups, (which i did for a long time) i just use a little CA now.

if you use a piece of double sided scotch tape on the bottom of the lipo it will take care of the side to side movement. you can also check into battery locaters available from shouie and PPD EZ weights. there is a thread for the PPD

Be careful with this. By just hanging the battery and/or weight off the outside edge of the car, you're not really balancing the car. You're just giving the battery more leverage on the chassis. The left side of the car is still heavier than the right. Best thing to do while our basic car designs are still based on sub-c cells is to try and get the battery as close as possible to the same weight and distribution of that weight as similar to a 6 sub-c cell pack as you can. Id rather have weight attached to the top of the pack and have it be the same weight as a 6 cell pack over having some weight hanging off the outer edge of a pack that's shifted over to the right and weighs 2/3 of a 6 cell pack.A car is only truly balanced when the weight is distributed evenly and in the same location on both sides of the car.

Sorry, I missed this. By changing both front and rear the same amount, you won't really be changing the balance of the car. You're really going to be limiting how much the car rolls all the way around. That should take away a bit of grip all around.

More droop in the front than in the rear is something I've never liked. Always made the car feel really twitchy going in and then just too stuck coming out of the corners.

Are you actually CA'ing the contact patch or just up the side wall?

thats what i did i added weigth to match it to a 6 cell 4200 pack now my car is balanced and legal weight

FYI, the Schui lipo locaters are designed for the standard chassis, and do not fit the carpet chassis. I rpefer to cut my own pieces of lexan and servo tape that to the bottom of my battery . . .
