I'm sure the entries will plummit since everyone will know they just don't have a shot at winning anymore.

Finally got it done. Took me a little longer since my normal method of saving a setup sheet wasn't happening for me. Anyways, here it is. Its saved as a jpg.

Notes about the sheet and my set up:
-The droop....I hate trying to write down droop because everyone tends to measure it differently. And it tends to translate badly unless thoroughly clarified. The Mi3 sheet makes it a bit easier, but just to be sure, I'll also list it in another popular form "droop over ride height". In those terms, I'm running 3mm front/6 mm rear.

-The "weight" listed along side the Orion 3200 is just to balance the car and bring it to proper rubber tire weight requirements.

-This setup steers hard, while keeping the rear end in line. But if you prefer to throw the rear out a little more, before changing anything setup wise, just take out the front 1mm spacer between the hex and wheel. This narrows the front and gives a little more aggressive steering.

-I'm using all the standard suspension components. No medium arms or alloy hubs or anything like that.

-Oh, and I did use a servo saver...forgot to fill that in.

Thats about it.

If you are running the spool, make sure you have the 2mm washers glued to the inside of the steering knuckle. Other wise, your steering will move to far and the universals will start to bind.

Tomie- I'm not going to be at BCR This weekend, but if the spacers I showed you didn't do it and you don't figure it out by next Saturday, I'll take a close look next time I'm up there.

.

I did put the spacers like Jon told me. It works in a few mins and the noise started again. lol I even polish the cvd's to make it smoother.

Make sure the blades are not wore out. As the wheel rotates, you blades/bone will "slide" around in the out drive. You might also have a bent dog bone.

Also check to make sure that the pin in the cvd is not loose and the yoke pivots are not screwed in too far. The pin can rub on them if it is sticking out of the bone too far.

Did you replace anything on the car? Like tires, shock ball cups, arms (front or rear) that may be free when the car is on the bench but as the leans into the corner the sound come around do to something rubbing. Also look at your body, are the tires rubbing against it or are there cracks that may cause the body to work differently in the corners and touch the tires or surface you are running on.

notes on this one:

- 2 hole front pistons, and heavier rear dampening. this car turned quite well off power, and despite increased dampening from the pistons and oil, had tons of steering. for some reason, the smaller holed piston, the more aggressive the steering is, given the same dampening (on the bench).
- low diffs. cleveland was high, these were low. the car is sharper with low diffs, which i found helpful in the double chicane (switchback) area. you can wrench the wheel more as the car stays flatter.
- 6* (plastic) blocks. the 5* tamales that i love just turned in too hard with this shock setup. both, the additional castor, and the flex of the plastic allowed for a more mild turn-in (transition).
- 33# xray springs. further helped the car slow down on the way in, but steered in the middle.
- longer front link softened the turn-in (reaction) as well.

all in all, it worked great. it was probably the most aggressive of my setups, if only marginally. this setup (lighter rear oil) was quite good at home (the gate) before i left.

again, have at it.
