Has anyone tried to get any MIP CVD's to work on the front of the Mission yet? Anything from a different car. I know that don't offer a CVD set for the Mission, but what about ones for HPI RS4 or something like that.

The Schuie steel universals are nice, but they wear out quick and the plastic ones are fragile in the front of the car. I have been running my steel ones for about 6 weeks now are they are toast.

Any help would be great

Tried kick up today with standard roll center in front (stock mounts). Car did not feel stable. The front end would drift and feel skatey.... For carpet foam racing I would say this is a NO NO..

Today, i tried something I was wanting to for a while, and alot of guys I had talked to said that on asphalt I would be crazy to do..... Well I doubled up the top deck, yes used 2 graphite top decks one on-top of the other... This made the car come alive!!! Now the rear-end rotates thru the corner much faster...... I can only wait to try the carpet topdeck!!!! Maybe dual carpet top-decks....LOL

Hey guys,

I set-up car yesetrday and have a slight problem with foam tires. With both Jaco and TRC's , both hit the ball cups front and rear. Does anybody have a solution, besides the obvious one of narrrowing the rims?? I already took the dremel to the arms and ballcups, but dont dare take anymore off!!

Ray- I found that also when using 26mm proline rims. I just cut loads away and am still using the hubs and cups 6 months later so not much could have gone wrong! Its a pain but lots of cars have the same problem

Jonski: Its my understanding that no MIP parts will work. The stearing turns too sharp for CVDs to work.

RBLove: Have you tried kickup with the roll center mod? Currently I'm running 1mm kick and it seems to give just a bit more steering...

Ray. you could also use a 1 or 2mm spacer behind the wheel to widen it out.... This only works if the track you race at doesn't check to make sure your car is exactly 190mm or less.


Either that or use CRC foams, the off-set is perfect to use with the Mission.

If you found the right cvd bones they probably could be used with the plastic shafts hardware.

Personnally I have had no problems with the plastic shafts.

Thanks!!! I guess the problem is that a lot of cars were tested with Rubber tires and foams are always an afterthought!! Ho-hum!!!


On the spacers-good idea, but I race at a few events with a tech box to check!! I did measure car for that reason and it is smack on 190mm!!!

I've run TRC's and they seemed fine on my car????

CVD's are very difficult for the front of the mission. It is related to the position of the "kingpin" of the car. This needs to be in-line with the CVD coupling and this looks near impossible!!

MattW, you wont have any problems if you get a set of rims that are perfect!!! All of mine have a little runout in them and they hit on and off as they spin.

MattW - Was it you who was going to try out the Titanium Racing CVD's for the mission? if so how were they? i got a couple of pinions from them and there VERY light, would like to try out the CVD's one day...

I have never really had a problem with the plastic ones. Just the fact that you spend $39.50 for the steel ones and they wear out so quick and they are not rebuildable. Just wish I could put some good old MIP CVD's on the car.

Ray....check the width of the TRC tires I belive that they are sometimes almost 28mm wide. I remember this from last winter most TC's are made to take up to 26mm wide and that extra is just a little to much for our cars. Are you sure about the width of the car with out any spacers? Because I always thought the car was about 188 with the TRC foams and you can add spacers to get it to the 190 max. These might be somethings that you want to look at.

Ray, My TRC's do not rub at all, but TM's and Jaco have the same off set and do rub. Just need to put them on the truer and take about 1mm off....


I NEED SOME HELP! Ran outside today. Had to run stock and struggled on roll out all day. I did well, but the car was slow. What are you guys out there gearing stock motors with the 20 tooth pulley? Include your tire size, spur, pinion, pulley and motor I needed to be faster. Finished second, but I was SLOW! I have not had this trouble at all on the carpet. The outdoor track was about 110 x 50...
