Good to hear from you Alex...hopefully you'll come run with us at Coral Springs this Sunday...

A couple of questions about the 2007 RROC-

1) Did you go brushless or brushed motor?

2) Any broken parts from being crashed by those reckless drivers?

Thanks alot guys.
I use Bushing oil from a model shop. I'm about to try some GT85 lubricant (with PTFE) which is supposed to be good, it was recommended by an ex Schumacher team driver over here who also uses it in his 1/8 nitro bits.

The first day of practice i had issues with my brushless system. Apparently I was sent the Novak BL system with the thermo cutoff. This cost me the first run of practice. I also had some issues with my car( scratched shock shafts, dead sways bars), all on my behalf based on how I built the car. Stupid mistakes.

The second day of practice I was able to prep up PW's back up car and I ran Brushed( Special thanks to Duane, Daryl and team checkpoint for the monster horsepower). My car was good on Friday, I turned a 12.9 in the last round of practice so i thought my car was money!

When Saturday came around, my car wasnt as good as it was on Friday. I had to baby it around the track because if I drove it hard, it would want to break loose. Broke the first round, rolled it over the second and third round, which cost me.

When Sunday came, I put on Randy's set-up on my car and it was just what I needed. I was on a top 3 run which would have clearly shown that I could run with those guys, but i rolled it again, and finished 11 for that round.

Qualified in the C-Main, waited all day to run, and the first turn at the start of the grid, I got annihilated by every car on the track and my car had 3 wheel drive after it was back n 4 wheels. So much for waiting all day to run.

I also wanted to take this opportunity to thank Team Schumacher(PW, Randy, John Kerr, and Weylin Rose) for all their help. Even though the week didnt turn out like I had hoped, this is the most fun I have had at a race in a very long time.

Just noticed today while fiddling around that the front pivot blocks are 1mm lower than the rears, so even if you run 2mm of spacers on the rear wishbone and 2mm of spacers on the front wishbones the fronts will be 1mm lower, interesting

It has also been pointed out that the wishbones sit quite a lot higher in relation to the chassis etc than the EC, combine this with the lower CofG on the Mi3 and you get less roll.

I ran the kit setup at WLRC with the difference of 2mm of spacers on the rear wishbones and a 1.2mm rear roll bar and the car kept breaking away on the tighter corners, on power or off.

Any suggestions of what to try first?

Thanks
Skiddins

I use a bushing oil too. Not as light as a bearing oil but not as heavy as a grease that can slow them down and attract dirt more than anything.

Random trivia. Anyone else know what PTFE stands for?

ALo,

Don't sweat it dude. That race is based a lot on luck. I watched some of the vids and the Schuie cars all looked good. I think you guys made a good showing.

Take it easy dude and hopefully I will see you on the rug this winter.
