Just got my first look at the Mi3 prototype...that apparently (from reading up on the thread)...none of us are supposed to be looking at.

Looks pretty cool. Got enough different about it that it caught my eye. Wouldn't replace my TA05 with it, but I'll ALWAYS have a soft spot for Schumacher touring cars and wouldn't mind running it in a second class.

That is, as long as Schumacher has recovered from the 'temporary insanity' that was the initial pricing on the last car!

I'll definitely be peeking around here for info and updates.

Dark - What are you talking about? The Mi2EC includes more expensive bling (Ti turnbuckles, Ti hinge pins, Alloy diff and spool, all alloy drive shafts, Quasi-Iso carbon) than an MSX Refine and sell for ~$70 less. It sells in shops for the same price as an Xray 007 that has no Ti at all and uses component grade carbon.

What I'm talking about is....when the EC first came out, it had a price tag of about $439 at speedtechrc. That (to me at least) was 'insanity'.

I'm just hoping that the new Mi3's price tag wont also start in the $400 range. 'Expensive bling' is nice and all, but I'd prefer that Schumacher do what they used to do. Make an excellent performing car, then let racers add the 'expensive bling' if they feel they need it.

The EC was the first of all the Schumacher TC's that I didn't own. So I'm hoping the Mi3 will give me a way add the newest car to my pit table along side my TA05.

My friend you missed out on maybe the best Schumacher TC ever.

As far as the cost goes...hey unless you want a RTR car they are all 400 and up. get used to it.

[QUOTE=AdrianM]The Mi3 is scheduled for a March release. Early March is the plan but stuff happens....

Those poor Losi guys, looks like we get a new ride before they do!

I see your point Dark, but at the same time, if they did offer a more "Basic" kit without all the hopups, they'll get criticized for that as well. You can't please everyone. The vast majority of the cars out there today are in the $400 range and most of them are for the most part, fully hopped up out of the box. It's just like the issue of how often cars are released. You release a car every 9-12 months and people get pissed because their brand new car is the "old" car now. Then if you don't release a new car for 2 years, you get criticized that your car is outdated and you're not keeping up with technology. Either way, you're going to get criticized.

Dark - We just can't win. We used to do what you suggested and we got beat on by everyone complaining about buying a $269 car then having to buy $400 in hop ups for it.

So the Mi2EC sold for $419.99 and the Carpet Spec sold for $439.99 (because of the diff and 2.5mm carbon is 20% more expensive than 2mm) and they came with EVERYTHING. In reality these cars were way cheaper to buy and race compared to what we used to sell.

I don't see the Schumacher cars being overpriced at all. They are right in line with all luxury touring cars. Plus to date the MI2 was the best car Schumacher ever produced and the MI3 will have that beat hands down for more than likely around the same price so I'm not seeing the problem.

I definitely hear what your saying. Although I always found the 'Pro' versions of Schumacher kits pretty damn well hopped up. Definitely never saw the need for $400 in hop ups. Hell, I usually ran the 'Pro' versions right outta the box with what it had, and always did well.

Besides, I guess when other companies are sellnig some of their crap cars for $400, you guys had to figure your car was worth as much as theirs.

Not casting blame, just saying that I was hoping the new one would break this new trend of $400 touring cars. But I guess thats the way the industry is heading.
