Default novak

great job to monte and pw. monte doubled up, and pw got faster every round, depite being sick.

my chassis was awesome, as some of you saw. i'd like to blame my lower finish on luck , but railing that sweeper in round 3 pretty much did me in. either way, the chassis was as good as it gets.

again, my foam setup was the same as cleveland, but moving the front camber link up on the tower. i am very pleased that this setup worked well for both low and high grip. if you are running foam at the snowbirds, i would recommend starting here.

Seaball, were you using Parma Mohawk..? How much of the front tower you have shaved to slam the body...? Also, from your cleveland/novak setup, if we don't have the 3mm BMI chassis but using the stock 2.5mm carpet chassis, what else we need to adjust and get close to your 3mm chassis setup?

i ran a file across the top of the tower, to shave probably about 1.5-2mm to flatten it out.

yes, i ran the mohawk. we tested it here, at the gate, but i didn't help on that. i watched as herrmann and ciccarello ran it. it looked great. more precise, and kept the car moving forward well. so i waited, and ran it for the first time at the novak club race on tuesday night after practicing all day with the alfa. i walked off the stand, found paul, and told him it was the best thing he'd done in a long while. it was incredible. alot of protoform guys found their loyalty greatly challenged after trying the mohawk. i think herrmann's spare body found it's way onto three or four other cars throughout the weekend. as did paul's here and there.

all you have to do for the stock chassis is add another 0.5mm to the roll center spacers to arrive at the same heights. the camber links will be fine. the stock chassis is totally awesome, but after putting a few months of wear on it, i decided to go with a bmi version that i had already acquired at last year's carpet nationals to pretty it up some.

When you guys referring ROLL CENTER...where exactly do you mean on the EC...? The pivot hinges or the alum bulkhead? So adding 0.5mm spacer (4 @ F and 4 @ R) underneath the alum bulkhead? Or underneath the pivot blocks...? Please school me............thanks.

Hi Solara...Im not PW or Seaball but I am 99% sure that they are referring to under the hinge pin blocks. That is where your pivot point will change.

Underneath the pivot blocks, this raises the wishbone on the inside near the diff.

It will be great to have you and Bob back running the Schuie. When we go to the ORL2 this year for the outdoor season me, you, Bob, Steve, and Paul will be running the MI3. Going to be a great time.

Thanks Chris, I had a great time at the Novak. I had a few radio issues but for the most part I only broken a couple of small things and the car was really good, I added a couple of little tweaks to Waylin’s Vegas setup (per pdub)and the car was there.
