Well....Today I was able to run my MI2 EC for the first time since building it. I will basically get to the point. I worked really hard on set-up and testing when i was running for Xray and racing the T2. i would be testing with my former Xray Teammates Michael Abraira and Tim Potter and basically got my car at a platue as far as how good it could be.....Not to put down the T2 because it is one of the best touring cars on the market, but my MI2 EC was 10 times better than my T2. My tire preparation was a little different, but for the most part, I was extremely happy with how the car handled. The car had no drag on the chassis whatsoever, tons of steering, easy to drive, and really fun to drive. I can wait for the MI3 to come out.

Try and keep the amount of roll balanced front to rear. You don't want the rear to stay too flat and have the front end dumping over or vice versa.
Thanks Jon.....again.

I ran 19t for the first time today and it had a bit of understeer on power, would the fact that the links on the rear were not the same as the front?

Matt I would stand the rear shock up one hole OR run 1 rate stiffer spring on the rear. (leaving them in their original position)
On power understeer is when the weight is transferred to the rear of the car when accelerating, hence the changes above would solve the issue.

I have run the EC at Aldershot for a quick practice but have not yet run it in anger. Hopefully will have a run out with it at WLRC this coming sun if there is not too much liquid sunshine in 'Wet London'

Early signs with the Teemu setup look good.... I have also had a few tips from Rob Miller. so we will see.

What whoopass said will work well for an on power push. You could also limit your front droop a little bit. This will let less weight transfer to the rear. Just be careful and don't do too much with the droop as it'll also affect how the front will roll side to side at the same time.

yep good point jon, 1/4 or 1/2 a turn on the front droop screws would limit the weight transfer.
(turn the screws down, so the angle of the wishbone increases) \ /

Rob/Jon,

Thats what i did, changed the droop by 1/4 turn, it worked well but i didnt know if that was the correct way of sorting it, but hey it worked. imroved on averaged by 8/10's and best was better by .5 of a sec.

Many thanks

Matt

Default MI3

Does anyone now when the new car is going to be released. Running out of spares for the EC and wondering if it is still worth to place a bigger order!

Looking at the prototype the sort of things you probably have spares of were the same, i.e.;

Wishbones, driveshafts, steering yokes, diffs, belts etc.

The last I was told, the end of February, or March is the target.
