It will have a little less adjustments of some of the newer cars out but to be honest I don't see why it can't be a pretty good car. I know my 99 and my 98 to this day where some of my best Schumacher cars to date and the MI2 EC. Those to me where the best cars IMO.

I think with up to date motors and batteries and with the newer tires out nowadays I would think you could still be pretty competitive but I'm sure what parts Schumacher still has in stock for that car. I would give it a try before buying a new car or run this one til you save enough for a MI2 EC.

Just from what I see on that setup I would change a few things to start with.

30wt oil front with white springs, shocks mounted in the middle hole on the front tower, and remove the front riser plate under the bulkheads and silver sway with 5mm ride height and 2mm of droop. Front wheel base setup stock per the manual.

35wt oil for the rear with white springs, shocks ounted in 2nd hole from the outside of the tower, medium/short wheelbase, with 5mm ride height with 2mm droop and riser plate under the rear bulkhead with silver swaybar.

I would start with negative 1 degree camber for all four tires to start with.

I would think with this setup you should have plenty of steering when using a silver can 540.

What WYD said plus set your roll centers to 2mm (only the riser under the pivot blocks) in the front and 3mm (Riser + 1mm shims) in the rear.

opinions vary on castor. when I ran the car I always thought that if I ran anything other than 4 degrees, the car felt broken. 4 gives you the best balance. Running the silver clan class that you are running should allow you to have a larger "sweet spot" for your setup because you are not carrying the speeds into the corners that you would in 19T or Mod. WYD's setup is a great point to start at. I think my old setup is still on the Schumacher Pitspace, but it was close to WYD's. We run on some of the same tracks. After my 12th scale commitment is done I will get back to touring....Can't wait!

When I run 6 degree of caster the car is easier to drive but does not yield as much overall steering as the 4 degree blocks do. I normally ran 6 degree but after running 4 degree the last 2 weeks the 4 degree where better and gave me more steering.

If you run the setup posted you should have alot more steering than you do now. Your running the 540 silver motor and they are not near as fast as a normal 27 turn stock motor and 19T turns we run with these setups. At your speed you should get tons more steering than you have now.
