to be honest you don't have to run that rear brace as the shock tower braces the diff halves anyway (that extra piece behind the tower actually helps to brace it).

Im looking into having a different top deck made that removes alot more of the flex (carpet use only) and one that allows more (carpet/tarmac). Won't cost to much to have done so worth testing them out.

I'll let you know once I have sorted them, likely be a few months yet.

Of course, you could just buy the Foam edition top deck P/N U2979

It's thicker and has a 'squarer' appeareance when viewed from above.

Roll Bars.......

I can understand that fitting a roll bar means that some of the grip is passed to the other end of the car.
But as this is the case, why run a roll bar at the other end at all, why not just fit a softer bar.

I have thought this before, but I was reminded of it when looking at Weylins carpet setup, black roll bar at the back, silver at the front.

Swaybars will control the amount of roll on their end of the car. Not really transferring any grip to the opposite end of the car. I'll use a different bar on the front than the rear to try and balance the amount of roll the car has. The only way I can see it effecting the opposite end of the car is if your front end is rolling over way too much and allowing the inside rear tire to lift and diff out. Then going to a heavier front bar will feel like it's giving the rear more grip.

I was going by what the Hudy setup book said, and with regard to increasing the grip at the opposite end, it does appear to be true.

I thought roll centre was used to increase/decrease roll?

I thought the roll center was the chocolatey goodness in the middle of a tootsie pop.

A lot of things effect roll. Swaybars, springs, roll centers, shock angles, etc... It's just how it effects the roll. I could try to explain everything but I'd more than likely mess something up or confuse you. Go to the link below. It's by far the best site I've found that explains suspension dynamics.
