Congradualtions to Teemu Leino for a strong 2nd place finish for Schumacher. Against 5-10 man factory teams our one man team podiums...again

2nd is a great result way to go Teemu, backing up last years euro champion title with a vice title...

Sounds like Andy had huge power with the new Orion Brushless, catching Mark Rheinard by meters on the straights, sounds like the Brushed motors were no match.

Im curious as to why teemu didnt run brushless? Too little time to adapt? more comfortable with brushed?

JD,

I don't think spoked wheels will get you there. Borrow some and weigh them on the club scales next time you're at the track and compare them to your own. Cutting the bumper down is a no-no. It's there to protect the front suspension of your car - leave it be.

Couple of "Free" Options:
- make sure your wiring is neat and as short as is reasonable. Extra wire between batteries and motors just wastes both energy and weight
- make sure batteries and motors don't have huge excesses of solder
- make sure you don't use bucketloads of paint on bodies - same with stickers

The "Cost" options:
- replace steel turnbuckles and hinge pins with titanium
- consider a titanium screw set

If you need to ask for help with soldering etc don't be afraid to - ask for the help you need. Those ideas might not save you 50g, but every little bit helps.

Cheers
Scott

Gav, yeah both of those are basically true. Teemu did try the brushless in a couple of runs but then reverted back to brushed as he wasn't totally comfortable wite so went with what he knew.

Mo's set up with a full version of the carpet spec car was killer. One of these days I will beat Mo but right now it's the driver holding me back. The only difference was the rear toe. The asphalt car was at 2 and the carpet car was at 3. This car rocks on rubber tire's for me.

I talked with Teemu and he said that he tried the BL in 2 rounds and the car glitched out in both costing him 2nd on the grid. He was very happy with his car, but the brushed motors didn't have the power to win on that track

Regardless; great result for Teemu and Schumacher

I'm very happy with mine.

Getting rid of the rear bumper/body mount and using the ones of the EC might get you there. You could also consider tape instead of the battery straps as well if you havent already gotten rid of that.

Have any of you other then Weylin been experimenting using the GTB or LRP ESC's with 19T and Stock motors?

Just wondering.

I've run the Novak 4.5 outdoors and it's awesome.

One of the local racers out here has and he's up to speed. I'll test mine out this weekend just to see how it runs with a brushed motor.
