Thanks to Pdub, glad to have met you at the Reedy Race. And thanks to the hand-me down tires (set 3) I TQed and finished first in Sportsman Stock Touring at this weekends JBRL series #3 At Revelation Raceway. What a huge track, around 550ft, Cobalt 27 geared 5.6 FD. Air temp 105* / track temp 157*, motor came off the track at 197*. I had a very good weekend, unfortunatly all my fellow San Diegians had bad days. Now looking forward to race 4 at Camarillo Park.

I use Schumacher oil in the shocks and I had left over AE diff lube that I used to rebuild my diffs.

Associated oil should be very close to Schumacher oil, which is what nearly all the team drivers use, so that makes copying setup sheets easier.

I really prefer the Schumacher diff lube (not sure on the part number), I think it's way better than Associated stealth lube which I used for a while. The Associated lube just seemed to thin all the time and it would be smooth for a few runs and then get flung out of the diff . I've never had that problem with Schue diff lube and my diffs are always great. I have lots of AE black grease though which is why I use that on my thrust bearings and it works well, although I'm sure the Schumacher Moly Axle grease or whatever would probably work better .

Trinity tire tweak is a good all around traction compound for rubber tires, especially TakeOffs. We've found the Hybrid Dip traction compound that Schumacher distributes to work the best with RP tires though, that's what we used at the Reedy race this year.

Dip rocks...I used it this past week on a cold track and it was faster and more consistant than Paragon.

I didnt know that people used different additive depending on tyre choice, i currently use trinity tire tweak and also take off's, but have just purchased some sorex tyres, does anyone recommend a additive for these?

matt

Ps, i've ordered the ec and will be getting it on the 23rd of this month, i noticed on KING-G's KING_G's EC car he had the purple ally collors that sit on the shock mount screw, does anyone know where i can get these?

Schumacher 'used' to do alloy and titanium versions of the shock mount posts, but they seemed to have dissappeared from their site

I have the alloy version myself and they are far better than the plastic and nut version that comes with the kit.

Maybe Tir make them, so it might be worth giving them a call.
