Switching to Lipo, need some advice.
Hi guys I've been in RC for almost 2 years, and now I'm a full time drifter, running a GTB and a 5800.
I havent got much time to maintain my NiMH cells and decided to make the switch to Lipo.
What I want to know is which is the best charger/battery combo for my GTB and 5800 motor.
I was told that Orion equipment is my best bet with the Advantage charger and the 4800 packs.
Any suggestions?
Thanks.
P.S - also at the moment I have a much more CTX charger, will that be ok to use with lipo? I've herd the lipo funtion on the CTX isnt that great.

Go with the Orion stuff. Get the 4800 pack if you can fit it in your car. If not go with the 3200. The Orion Avionics chargers are perfect for charging their batts. Either of these work well.

Don't bother with the CTX-C. It doesn't charge LiPo at a high enough rate to be useful.

Nah man... I'm pretty sure the TT-01 will spontaneously combust when it sees Lipo power. If your car wasn't infested with tamiya blue then things would be different..
Say.. if your TT was purple... then things would be alright..
Generally speaking ray - the troubles arise on belt cars. Shafties usually mount their batts longitudinally ON the chassis plate. Either strapped or with a plate. The TT tub should have plenty of room.
belt cars however, usually tuck the cells transversely across the chassis .To get them right in, they tuck them under the bulkheads. The bulkheads are a tight fit and usually shaped to fit the cells. The Lipo packs are somewhat square edged - Ie. don't fit without major dremel work.
The TT will be fine.. (Oh crap - if it doesn't i see ya around. Damn...)

Also make sure you get a good quality Li-Po charger that charges at at least 3.2Amps.
