In my opinion..fans dont do too much when the motors are hot..Just carrying excess weight..
I will take off for winter and add for summer..Mainly for when u are sitting on the hot ashphalt...
Well, we are using speedpassion heatsink while the fan on top is blowing while the other fan is sucking the hot air out... this way, my motor stays ard 75-85 deg celcius....

I highly doubt the fan used for sucking would prove effecient!

you need to have a complete air tight seal chassis for a fan used for sucking hot air out to be of any use.

Took the LRP SXX SS Out for a run today and it's sh!t. Nothing but cogging issues with it. 2 laps it was fine and then 3rd lap it was a mess. Changed sensor wire, change gearing/ Changed it to No boost even and 1 feel and still the same!!!!
Brand new esc and this sh!t happens with a well known product. Not happy jan!!!

well it certainly works for us while it has brought down the temperature by around 10-15 deg celcius. And it's really hot here!

with the heatsink/fan it would, as I have found too.

however not sure about your 'sucking' fan though

Been searching but didn't find much. Just installed the sxx stock spec in the tc5. 17.5 duo. Looking for a safe profile and fdr. Little testing so far not on track and so far find myself at 0 6 9 2 with a fdr of 4.8. After 4 min of runtime I temp around 138 and the spedo had 1 flash for temp. I have retarted top end but think its useless on a small track of 80x60. should I aim for an fdr of mid 5's?

Mid 5's sounds about right - I ran 4.8 with the SPX, and you have to gear lower with the newer ESC's. I have even heard about people going into the 6's with 17.5T on small tracks with the SXX Stock Spec. So try to drop a couple of teeth, and see what happens.

Your gear and boost are both too high. I would start with boost around 6-7 and gearing in the 6s. I ran a SXX-SS with x-12 3/4/7/2 geared 6.45:1. this was on a 100 foot straight. Tried running gear at 5.9 the same night and 6.45was definately faster.

Gearing from the SPX means nothing with the SXX-SS, that is comparing a grape to an apple.

Default SXX high speed brakes

Hi all..
How are people finding the high speed brakes, as to the SPX?
In my opinion..The sxx brakes suck,,,,
Getting the cheap arsed hobbywing...They say it has brakes..and its cheap..I have given up with the SXX...waste of cash, blows motors, and its not that fast...

In my opinion..Its still way too low....I cooked all my motors using a bigger pinion...Start around 7-8fdr...

Just got one of these to try this weekend with 12th scale 13.5.
Very nice, no issues what so ever.
X12 13.5 oooo timing insert
rollout low 50's to high 40's
Feel 7-8
Boost 8-9
Smooth, with good rip.

100 ft straight on med-bite carpet
