hey everyone,

at present i have an orginal xray T1, and im looking at either the xray evo2 FOC, or the factory kit, or a losi xxxs..

what i wanted to know was, if i do in fact decide to change from the xray to losi... will it be very difficult to get used to?? as opposed to an xray???

also, i am running pillow ball suspension on my xray at the moment, if i get the c-hubs, will it be very different to set up??


i know all the answers to these will be in just running the cars and trying different things, but i wanted to know if anyone else who has gone through the same sort of process could help me out?

and finally... is it worth learning how to set up and drive a losi rather than stick with an xray???

in my opinion if your going to stay with belt cars just upgrade the xray is an awsome car to me i couldnt even imagine going from a xray to a losi. i would get the factory xray though has a few more adjustments and the short arms which will help keep corner speed and a little more responsive. If you want to switch brands i would definatly go to a shaft car (PRO4) just my opinion good luck.

I would stay with the xray as well....
Rob, you've used the T1 now for so long, you know the car fairly well, so the transition to the factory car will not be a huge step.

Might also be an option to ask one of the Clarkes to give you a run of the losi, just to see if you like it.....

Why do you consider switching cars?

As far as I understand, the XRay is way more solid than the XXX-S.

C-hub suspension is easier to setup than pivot ball suspension.

If the ease of setup do matter, I would stick with XRay. It's always easier to setup a car, that you know, than to start with a new kit.

If you would like to try something different, why not get the Raycer tub chassis for your current XRay? It's a cheap way to do it. If you combine with the C-hub suspension, you have a car which should be easy to setup. The Raycer is known for being easier to drive, than the carbon version. And you have these nice shocks, which dont require oil changes to change dampening. Diffs can be adjusted without tearing the car apart.

Now, I dont know your reasons, but I would stick with XRay.

Wait for the FT XRAY!

Go with the FT EVO2. From what I understand is you cannot get a new FOC from XRAY anymore. They come up discontinued. I loved my Xrays, just got tired of waiting for them to come out with a 1/10th shaft driven car.

As a "Losi Guy," I'd lean toward the Losi for obvious reasons. But, like most of these guys are saying, you know the Xray line better. One of the things I have found frustrating the few times I've gone to a different manufacturer is not the hanling, setup, etc..., It's been learning HOW to adjust the new car and how much of a difference each change makes on that car. Some cars, changing a couple degrees of castor makes very little change, others, it makes all the difference in the world. Same goes for springs, camberlinks sway bars, etc... Some cars just react different to the same adjustments. I'm sure the new Xray will have similar charicteristics as the older one when it comes to this, but then again, it may not.
