Just home and recovering from a massive week at TITC, and i just wanted to thank Ethel and Jackie from 3 Racing for their supply of and assistance with the running of the Sakura.
Upon arriving at the track i was very impressed with the professionalism of the 3Racing crew, they all had matching pit equipment, and team shirts (unfortunately not enough X's in the shirts to fit my fat ass
Jackie had a ton of parts bought in to supply the guys, and had everything i needed at the drop of a hat.
They handed out some very trick pit boards, made from sandwich board graphite, which is incredibly light.
Onto the racing, the car was great on the track after a few tweaks, setup changes were very easy, the design of the roll centre shims for example is awesome, available in half and quarter mm thicknesses.
Unfortunately some electrical gremlins, and driving mistakes prevented me from performing as well as i hoped, with a final placing of 33rd. The car and electrical finally came together in the final, and after getting majorly hacked first lap, managed to charge back from half a lap down to be an easy 3rd.
Some of the other guys managed some better placing, with i think 2 cars in the Mod B main, and 1 car in the BL B main.
Jackie advised us that they will be aiming the car at the mid level market, competing on price with cars like the TA05. All i can say is if they manage to get to this price level with the current spec car it is going to be a very very popular choice in the local markets.
Once again, thanks 3Racing i had a ball.
