Hey Paul, I'm running an 008 car in RCGT on a smooth high bite carpet track and am currently running 6mm in the front and 5mm in the rear and the car needs to be driven cautiously. Would going to 4mm in the front and 3mm in the rear settle the car down and make it more stable?

I'm running 3.0 springs in the front with 60wt oil, 2.6 springs in the rear 40wt oil, 3 hole fixed pistons all 4 shocks. My camber is set at 1.5 in the front and 2.5 in the rear with 3 degree of rear toe, ride height is 5.5mm

Hi. yes, if you lower the car the car will become more stable, normally lowering the car gives it the feel of having more rear grip.
what i know about your set up seems good.

Hi Paul!

have question..

1.different damper's sus-arm positions has different work. but how different..?
I mean..damper mounted close to tire..( wide position) I feel,,, car more turn in when enter the corner.
I adjust put 0.4~0.75mm shim on the sus holder. and use narrow wheel hub.

on the manual... 1.5mm shim on the sus holder. but I feel 2mm or 2.25mm shim on the sus holder more turn in when the enter the coner..
Am I feel wrong..?

can you tell me the differece ? when use 1.5mm and 2.25 mm. or none of use..

2. and If i change the damper position.. do i have to change the damper spring..?

3. Many drivers ( tamiya , hot bodies etc..) use same damper spring front and rear ,(world championship, TITC, some of out door race ).. but I found many Xray driver use different damper spring ( more stiffer spring on the front) .. Is it car different ?or driver different..?

4. and do you drive same set-up when you running 13.5 and mod..?

thank you~!

Paul,I have a couple of questions for you.

1. If I felt a car required a narrow rear setup would I get the same "feel" by going to a narrow hex over changing the inner lower arm spacers?

2. Is it true that Baker is secretly dating Opti-Mom?

How's the new 7.4v 5200 50C pack compared to the older 40C packs? Does it respond well to cycling like the 40C does?

Thanks

Hey Paul-

What is the body to run at Trackside right now? I am bringing up the Mazda 6 as the main body. I do have one speed 6.

Hunter and I was wondering what are you using right now for preference.

See ya next week.

Thanks.

Hey Paulie, congrat's on the upcoming wedding and also the new sponsors. Hope things go well for you in the new year. You need to put the USOW race on your schedule for next year. This years race was the best one I have attended & I have been to all but 1 (the facility was awesome and the racing was just as good). Just a quick reminder: I'm still up 1-0 against you!!!! lol

1: what you are talking about with mooving the suspension arm wider and narrowing the hub is a pretty big change, i do think that it would make the car more reactive entering the corner, but mainly because of the narrower hex spacing. when you change the distance between the center of the tire and the Knuckle screw (steering pivot or "Scrub set") it makes a big difference.
If you were just mooving the shock more outboard on the suspension arm you would want to consitter changing the spring. the closer the shock mount is to the outer hinge pin the stiffer the spring and oil will be.

2: No, but In a perfect world Yes because you would know that your oil to spring is perfect to begin with and you would know to make it a bit thicker for a stiffer spring.. if you do go stiffer spring and not oil the suspension will rebound faster and could cause ill handling, but i dont always do that.

3: I have never used a HB car or Tamiya car so i dont really know, but i have noticed the same thing. their are no major design difference on a hb and tamiya that would make the front of the car much stiffer compaired to a Xray. maybe they know something that i dont but i can never seen to do the same spring all around, especially lately.

4: Yea, i just drive harder with 13.5 because you can but i approach the corners the same and all.

Thanks

Hi. yes, i feel like narrowing the car from the hex can keep the car more stable while being narrow as apposed to narrowing the car feom the suspension mounts which shortens your rear camber link and your pin spacing.

2. lol Barry better not be cheating on Lori, Laurie (spelling).

Hi Shaun, the 50c packs have been really great for me in mod and especially 12th I havent tested it in 13.5. I think that their could bea point to where the extra discharge rate dosent help in the spec classes because the amp draw just isnt their. second run on the day it will run faster, i think that goes for almost any lipo.

Hi, glad to hear that you are making it down again!. I will be running the speed6, i kinda think that the LTCR will be the body of choice if not here but for sure in the future. for the novak i will be on the speed6 but i will start running with the LTCR soon.

Do you use lip gloss and if so what kind? I ask because your lips seemed really red yesterday when you blew me that kiss.

Happy New Year to you.
