Hi Paul. I'll be running in Omaha in the up coming nats. Its my local track . We race club every week. Top 3 are always xray. Luckily im the top 3. As of lately I have been loosing ground on time. Ex. Top 20 ave lap is 10.9 top xray and I'm stuck in 11.4. I just feel like my corner speed just not there . And also punch. I run thunder power. And speed passion ESC. In 17.5 class. What can I do to get corner speed and punch.

Hi. Last time i ran 17.5 i ran my thinderpower at 35deg timing, green rotor, geared at 3.7, similar size track. seemed to be decently fast. as for the car you need to make sure the set up is balanced and drives good and it will carry corner speed. Maybe post your set up then tell me what you think it could do better and i could shoot you some suggestions or a while new set up to try.

Thanks!

On the motor i would try the green rotor and gear it up to a 48 pinion.
I would also try running the car softer for starters, 4hole 40wt all around with 2.4 spring rear and 2.6 front. also stand up the rear shocks one and the front up 2. That is what i would try first but it will take some tuning with droop and camber.

good luck!

Yup, definitely a softer set up will help with traction roll. It will help reduce the high pressure spikes threw suspension/tire to the ground and it will also let it roll more to drag the chassis on the ground before it has a chance to traction roll.

Paul thanks for all the info over the past few weeks about traction rolling and sweep tire traction .
I will say knowing what affect camber link changes makes made all the difference in the world once the springs were chosen . in a Yr I haven't moved a camber link . lol but this past weekend at the champs I pretty much changed them every heat either fighting or aiding traction . I will say tho I cought wind these sweeps used at the champs were on harder wheels and different inserts that others . the stiffness of the rims were night and day with other new sweep tires (these were 15+-% harder at the race ).
All and all I got the old T4 working great made some fast laps with my set up just the driver couldn't do it every lap . will say tho Brock's T4 was nice . .2 slower but way more stable . going to try his/Ur spring/oil setup when I can get some 2.3s
