TC3 setup Ozite Carpet vs Smooth Asphalt
Hi Mike
I need some help. I currently run on Ozite Carpet during the week and would like to run the same car on Asphalt during the weekend.
The carpet setup is as follows;
Front
1) Toe In 1 degree
2) Camber 2
3) Caster 4
4) Shock oil 60W, #2 piston with Yellow springs
5) Roll Bar
6) Kickup +2
7) Droop 0.5mm
Rear
1) Toe In 3 degree
2) Camber 2
3) Shock oil 60W, #2 piston with Purple springs
4) Anti Squat 2
5) Droop 1.0mm
I would like to switch to Asphalt and keep the same shock oil/piston. I hate changing oil! Everything else should be ok and easy to changeover. Can you provide a decent setup for a Stock C-Mainer with 60W/#2 pistons?
Thanks

Rinkrat, do you have anything to do with the "Rink Rat" Roller hockey wheels? Just wondering.

Rinkrat... I would go to associated's web site and get this setup

This is a good starting point for outdoors.. All you can do is try it with your oils.. I know runing that heavy of oil outdoors unless it is 100 plus degree's might make the car too loose.. With the car reacting slower.. We usually run no higher then 40 wt outdoors...
Hope this helps..

Mike,
I have noticed that you use a reinforced top pod plate on your 12L that has a standoff that connects to the t bar. Is this somthing you have made yourself, or is this a part that can be purchased? What effect does it have on the car?
Thanks for your time

cwolf.. BRP made it for me for the 12L I am pretty sure he still sells it.... I do it to stop the pod from twisting. I feel like the car accelerates better or straighter...

Mike-
Outdoors, rubber tires, 19t, do you suggest a spool? This is specifically for the Tamiya race, I checked out your setup sheet and saw you were running one. When would you not want to run a spool on asphalt?
Thanks

spyderx.. We run a spool there because the Reedy race do's not allow one-ways.. That is the only reason we do not run one there.. As far as running one , I think there have only been a few occasions we ran a spool over a oneway outdoors, Tight track were brake's are needed or a very slick track.....
Hope this helps..

Hey Mike this was a lot easier when we use to run 12th scale up at USA raceway in Bridgeport.
What about a setup for running foam tires on pavement. The setup shows cs-27 rubber tires and I usually run pink rears and purple fronts. And tell Vicky to tell Tony I'm still working on the Cleveland video. I haven't forgotten about him.

nashrcracer.. Yes USA the good old days.. Miss the heck out of that track., As for foams outside , I would run VERY close to what you run indoors on carpet, Maybe alittle softer oils but that would be it.. Maybe 50-60 #2's or close to that....
