What is the proper way to align the fron end on a TC3
 

I've tryed many times to align the fron end of my TC3 and I always have some problem. I think im doing it right. I disconect the servo arm (from the servo to the steering rack) then I put the front end on a set up station. I adjust each end link (fron the rack to the hum on the left and right to be at 0 deg) I make sure my Tx is all set at Zero so everything should be pointed streight. When I do a steering test the servo will go back to nutural but the wleels will be pointed 1-2 deg either way because of the slop in the steering rack. If I tighten the 2 nuts up on the rack it binds up the servo. So now I never know if im gonna be pointed streight because of the unavoidable slop in the rack. Is there a proper way to get around this problem:confused: I like the TC3 but the front end is such a headace. Thanks for the help:)

I always just disonnect the servo saver from the servo, then turn on the power and let the servo center itself then I alighn the saver connected to the turnbuckles as best as I can and then screw it in to the servo. As far as I know you should always make steering adjustments with power on.

As long as you made the steering links the same length, disconnect the servo horn from the servo, power up your Tx, set the steering subtrim to zero, power up your car, and re-attach the servo horn. Due to the way the splines on the horn and servo line up, you might not be able to get the steering perfectly straight. You then have to use the subtrim to correct for the misalignment in the horn/servo connection. Then drive slowly on the track, where you might also need to adjust the trim so that the car rolls straight when coasting.

A little slop and free action is what that rack needs.
It'll track straight, just build it to spec and use the subtrim and regular trim.

Also, check that the servo centers the same every time with nothing attached to it.
